1/2 rec heavy game
Villain is middle age white guy. I'm new to table so no real reads, but he just screams rec player to me. Effective stacks ~$300

Villain open raises to $10 from MP position. BTN calls. Hero calls with 10s8s in BB.

Flop: Ks Qs 10d ($31)
Hero checks, Villain bets $15, BTN folds. Hero calls $15

Turn: 4s ($61)
Hero checks, Villain checks back

River: Jc ($61)
Hero bets $75

I don't break out the over bet much, but this seems like a good situation to me. Checking back the turn leads me to believe he doesn't have spades. If he has an ace I feel like he's calling here most, if not all of the time. The preflop raise puts an ace in is range more so than a 9, which we are probably folding out.

Would anyone bet smaller to try to get a call from a 9? Alternatively is anyone leading the turn since the flop probably connects with a ton of villains holdings?

There's a four card straight and a potential flush on the board. That's very very hard to get paid for a pot size river bet. If you bet 1/2 pot even that will not be called on that board. Why not trying to make an abnormal sick bet just in case he may think you're bluffing and want to buy the pot.

Any decent moderate bet he's gonna figure you for a flush or straight looking to get called. He may fold. But an all-in shove he may think that you honestly don't expect to get called on that wet board. He thinks your bet is not a "value" bet. If he understands what value bets are, else ..., well ... (LOL) .. It depends who the villain is.

Oh, by the way: what you mean by saying "1/2 rec heavy game"? - What heavy are you talking about? , .., Just curious

It's a 1/2 game on the Las Vegas strip on a Saturday afternoon. That's what I mean. The table is loose people are having fun and drinking. No one was taking the game too seriously. I just wanted to set the atmosphere.
