3 limper hero is on button with 55 i usally limp them and set mine so i do and
villian is in the sb and raises to 12 and folds to hero and i call in position and try to set mine

flop comes A Q 6 rainbow villian checks as does hero
turn comes 5 of hearts bringing in flush draw villian leads for 20

Looks fine. Sorry he had AA or QQ. Now if you were both 250+ bbs deep youd probably be over playing your hand.

Re: 1/2 full boat

I think the stacks are too shallow to set mine here.
Raise pre. And your plan should be to evaluate if you fold to a raise or just gii pre vs a 75bb stack based on your opponent. In this case I'd fold.
Just call pre is a pretty big leak imo.
AP pretty standard call.

Re: 1/2 full boat

Limping here is fine. Not sure why 75 to 1 is bad for set mining in position. Granted you may not get paid the full amount but you certainly can expect to make 15-20bb if someone hits the Flop or just take it down with a bet on the Flop if it gets checked to you .. even without a set. You can raise PF in position for the same reasons as well.

Not so sure we want to call the raise PF, NOW stacks are getting too shallow to set mine HU. Can't say I've never called before and I actually would prefer a smaller pair when doing so since most players would suspect aggression from 88-JJ as being a set but not 22-66.

Not that it would change your result, but I'm not letting this Turn go by without a raise too often. You got 'lucky' that the Flop checked through and hit your hand so you should go for some more value ... especially with bottom set. There is now a flush to go with the gutter ball straight draw and someone may have Qx and hit 2 pair on the River. It's very unlikely that most opponents will put you on 55.

Your opponent wont call your Turn raise with 99, but they certainly will felt you if a 9 hits the River. Hands that hit the board will call a Turn raise and you dominate most of them. But letting 'all' those over cards hit the River without an additional price may cause you some anguish!

It's assumed that you lost here, but you need to look at 'all' the hands your opponent may have in these spots and play accordingly for the most value. If your opponent misses the River and check-folds to you, then you don't get any additional chips for the risk you took PF ... and they saw the River at their price, not yours. GL

Raise turn. As played, shoving river is the right play.
