V1 is MAWW, V2 is MAWG, but relatively unknown to me

Effective stacks: $230

Hero in BB with KJ

V1 in MP raises to $10. V2 on button calls. Hero calls.

Flop (30): J72

Hero checks. V1 bets 20. V2 raises to 50.

Hero? I tanked briefly and considered folding since V2's raise looks very strong. Also considered shoving. Instead I settled on raising to 100 with the intent to shove any turn card if called.

V1 folds. V2 shoves all-in for 220 total.

Hero only has to call 120 more to win about 370. I'm ranging him on 77, 22, or AJ only pretty much, with the sets more likely.

Anything wrong with this flop play? I could have folded to the 50 raise when I suspected strength but top pair with flush draw is exactly the flop I was looking for with KJhh and I had a hard time getting away from it.

I think calling is the worst option pre, although all options are probably fine. I lean fold as PFR is a MAWW.

I would just call flop. V1 likely has an overpair which you're flipping against. V2 likely has a set. Against a set & overpair you're 30%~.

I'd rather GII vs both V1 and V2 than risk only GII with V2

I'm pretty tight from the blinds, and vs. basic unknowns, I just fold.

I shove flop (gamble) or fold flop, but now that we are here, it's an easy call.

I suppose just calling the original 50 on the flop to entice V1 to call or raise might be better since it makes my price better on my draw and realizing top pair is pretty worthless here usually so I don't need to protect that. I need to get better at adjusting my thinking quickly at the table when action doesn't go how I expect. However, doesn't just calling the 50 pretty much turn my hand face up as a strong flush draw?

Top pair will rarely be good, but it'll give you some extra outs which is always nice. I don't think calling turns your hand face up here. Your opponents would expect you to call with KJdd (instead of KJhh) here. Whether or not you would is irrelevant

The main reason I would call, rather than shove or fold is because if V1 shoves behind you and V2 calls you're getting direct odds to GII vs AA and a set. You should be able to extract value vs. these guys if V1 just calls and you hit your flush

Agreed. I didn't word it correctly but that's what I meant by "the right price", getting paid by both Vs if I hit.

The result was I called the all-in and V2 showed 22 for a set, as expected. I got lucky and the turn brought the Ah. V2 got some of it back a few hands later when he rivered a flush to beat my two pair.

I don't like calling because if V1 just flats (or folds) and the turn is a blank, then what? I like using any FE I have now and I want to see both cards. If we were deeper, a flat might be OK.

lol @ fold pre.

you really wanted to raise/fold otf? the only play is to get it in now based on flop action. hand plays itself. what exact flop were you looking for?
