1/2 game

V1-guy in his late 20s, thinker to the point of wanting to know chip counts, what’s in the pot, pot odds, etc. But he hasn’t shown down any hand yet.

V2-Old guy, talks to much and laughs at himself constantly (so annoying –LOL) but doesn’t play like a typical “old guy”, nitty, etc. In fact he’ll chase too. He tends to overvalue his hands.

Hero on the button. Eff. Stacks 200

4 limps to me, I limp with 34o

$10.00 in the pot

Flop: 256
Check around to Hero, Hero bets $5.00

V1 (HJ)-calls
V2 (CO)-calls

Pot: $25.00

Turn: 7

V1-bets $15.00
V2-raises to $35.00

Hero?

Fold preflop.

Bet more on the flop...$8.

I think a raise to $85 on the turn sounds right.

Fold pre with that hand, even on the button (or raise from the button if you insist on playing it) . NOT a good limp hand although you got incredibly lucky w/ the flop. Bet $10 w/ flop bet to charge flush draws appropriately.

As played, you got the 2nd best hand you could have ever hoped for on the flop. Play it out...raise turn bet to $70 and jam any further action (unless a hits on the river). Expect that you are going to lose to Villain's 89 in a limped pot sometimes though.

fold pre.

bet at least pot otf.

id raise to 90-95 ott. however, that leaves awkward stack sizes otr, so i may just jam it right here.

jambre is right. I've seen these guys play anything and everything in a limped pot at 1/2. Their excuse? "It was the same suit." or "I was priced in."
