Hero($280ish): 20 year old WM, strong image against most at the table specifically villain who checked behind a full house on the river when I c/r'd a gutshot on the turn.

Villain(covers): Early 30s WW, likes to call opens and see flops. No real reads on bluff vs value bet tendencies. One piece of info that could be useful is that in the hand I played against her I did say "You checked behind?" after she showed A2 on A92A7.

Hero opens to 15 UTG with A5ss. Standard open at the table for most players is somewhere behind 10-13. Folds to Villain who calls from the button.

Flop($33): Qc5d4d
Hero checks, Villain bets 15, hero calls. Thoughts? I like to float flops sometimes so as to not over fold to flop aggression, and I usually do this when I have a range advantage with hands like BDNFDs and occasionally when I pair my ace kicker.

Turn($63): Qs
Best possible turn that isn't a A or 5. Hero checks, Villain bets $25.
At this point I'm thinking that if we're going to call flop, we have to call turn as she is now 33% less likely to have a Q and wouldn't double barrel 66-JJ. Is this a bad way of thinking? Hero calls

River($113): 4s
Hero checks once more, and Villain triple barrels for $50 more.
Is this a good spot for a hero call? I could see her trying to exploit weakness since I checked 3 streets and turning Axdd into a triple barrel, targeting folds from hands like 99-JJ. I could also see her remembering that I made a comment about her nitty check back with a boat and deciding not to slow play her strong hand this time.
I ultimately decided to fold, thinking the latter was a more compelling argument for what she was doing.

I'm mainly just curious: Is this fold a good place to float and if so, should I hero call river.

Eh, I don’t really mind any particular street but i’m Not in love with getting 52bb’s into a hand with a pair of 5’s. Historically I would always call the river and lose to a pair of 8’s. Now I think that c/r turn would be the better play. If you tack the $50 you’re going to call into a c/r on the turn your hand strength relative to V is the same but your FE is infinitely higher. For me I think this is a big leak. Your mileage may vary.

Note: I have a loose passive style so thinking V’s should read my c/r as extremely strong.

Being loose and sticky I find myself in this position often. Bumping for additional thoughts.

I don't think we beat enough of her range to make this a profitable play. It is difficult to construct a calling range here, but a wide assumption would include JJ-22, AK-AT, KQs-KTs, random suited broadway, connectors and aces.

I have trouble finding a lot of hands in this range that play the hand this way that you beat. 67 and spade combos might play this way, but the live player you describe also gives up on a lot of rivers I think. A queen on the other hand is often played this way.

If this is the V who checked down a FH, then I hate the turn call and river call (if you made it). I just don't see this type of player TB with any range that A5 beats. I am fine with the float OTF, but otherwise I think I just fold turn.

Villain is going to check behind a full house on the river and now she's going to 3 barrel??

Floating the flop is fine, but if I'm doing anything on the turn it's c/r. After that I'm done.

I think I find the call otr getting better than 3:1 but I'm not loving it.

PF I actually prefer limping here. It sets you up to 3! a hand that is almost never totally dominated and maximizes your fold equity. If it limps around, you can try to flop the nuts for cheap and then play some poker. Could also see just folding this being UTG, but I don't really love opening it without a pretty concrete plan. Did you consider betting the flop? I think if you bet flop bet turn, you can fold out most things that aren't great draws or a Q, and you could always have Qs in your range as well. If you're going to open this hand, you need to be aggressive to maximize your FE.
