So after getting a decent cash in an online MTT i decided to try out my local casino in Van.

Had a couple reads on the villain, but i didn't know what to do with them. 15 hands before or so he raised TT pre in HJ area to 15, he proceeded to bet 35 into a pot of ~40 on 732 two club board, his hands were shaking alot when he counted out his chips (got it AI on flop i believe after short guy to his right put his stack in)

Later he overbet pot into a guy very confidently (no shaking or deciding on the count) guy folded, no SD.

This hand comes up, im in MP, 3 limps to me, i call with A3hh, 7 people go to flop.

Board comes 953hh, checks to LP limper , he bets like 7 into some large pot and everyone calls nearly. Turn comes A,giving me 2 pair and a nut FD, checks to guy to my right, he bets 100 into like 80 and i put my 158 in and we see a river

Comments please

With a pair and flush draw shoving flop is your best play.

As played Top and bottom pair with NFD on turn shove is fine.

I don't know if shoving on the flop is the best play because most hands that call you have very good equity against. In a multi-way pot, I feel like calling is a really good cost effective way to try to make it a much better hand for cheap before getting in more money that many people will many times call/bet away even with a worst hand.

I like the flop call, and I like the turn shove.

Read the FAQ about how to post live hands or look at some examples.

Its helpful to know effective stacks, table positions, the pot size on each street and any reads you may have on the players.

The tell seems irrelevant. Not sure why you told us about it.

Obviously on the flop we have a monster. With these stack sizes in a raised pot and against 1 or 2 players we would be happy raising on this flop and being prepared to get it in. But this is a limped multiway pot so we have to worry about sets and random two-pair hands.

You haven't really given us a feel for the amount of dead money out there or our fold equity so I'm guessing raising here will only take down a small pot if we win and put us in a tough position if someone else commits.

As played, its fine to call on the flop. When the turn card comes, its fairly standard to put all the chips in with this hand relative to the pot, stacks and action.

Too many players, I fold.

Is anyone EVER folding TP + xP AND the NFD in this situation??? It really would be nice to have additional information on the hand, but given what you've told us, ship it and be happy. You're behind a set and A9, and way ahead of everything else.

Ok so a couple things, I really would never think to fold in that spot, hence why i posted it. I have never played live as stated and given this player i was wondering if it was correct to get it in.

As to live reads i have no idea whats relevant and whats not, i just posted my mental notes on the player. Additional things i forgot to mention last night, he seemed recreational, he didn't know the people who seemed to be regs at the table (he confirmed this later). Also I'll clarify the action here.

NL 1/2 Live

PF

Villain UTG+2
Hero MP (A)

UTG+1 limps, UTG+2 Limps, Hero limps, 2 LP limps behind, SB completes, BB checks.

Pot (12$)

FLOP

953

SB checks, BB checks, UTG+1 Checks, villain checks, hero checks, LP1 bets 7, LP 1 calls, SB calls, BB calls, UTG+1 calls, Villain calls, hero calls,

Pot (63$) (although in game i counted ~70$ i think, so maybe one more player in hand or im bad at counting live)

TURN

953A

SB check, BB check, UTG+1 checks, Villain bet 100$, Hero? (with 158 behind)

I really dont know how much of his range i beat is why i post it, I see him raising a set on the flop, so I discount those from his range 75% of the time at least. I think he MIGHT raise any 2 random pair, but im not sure. Other than that all the A hits aside from me and AA (which raises pre) is teh straight. So given that overbet I am facing some mix of FDs and the nut straight, maybe a 2 pair hand (or a better Ax 2p).

From that logic if i dont think he does that with a FD I am left against A9s, A5s, 24, 95 possibly, all of which are dominating me, granted i am guaranteed 20% equity at least on river im still not sure how happy I am with it.

Granted at the time I was like TP + pair + FD = nuts ship it

^95 is definitely not dominating you. I like the shove on the turn. If you are behind a set or better TP, you have some outs. There are plenty of times where you are ahead already though.

^ OK thats what i was wondering, i always heard live games play tight in terms of draws getting it in so i was thinking about what it is that i beat here solidly, and i guess 95 can make up plenty of his range.
