1/2 deep Major spew pre leads to a difficult decision in a huge pot 1/2 deep Major spew pre leads to a difficult decision in a huge pot

Game is 1/2 with mandatory UTG straddle. Hero should be seen as TAG on a heater. V is playing around 90% of hands, can show up with a pure no connection to the board bluff at any point. Previously seen call off ~800 pre flop with KJs. Overall passive but can spaz.
V (~1500) UTG straddle 4, folds to H (covers) in CO T 8 raise 15, folds to V raise 45, H call
Flop (93) Q J 9 V bet 45, H raise 150, V call
Turn (393) 9 V check, H bet 200, V raise 400, H call
River (1193) 7 V bet 400, H call
Thoughts on all streets appreciated, thanks!

Yeah, I don't think "TAG on a heater" is really an image, unless this is someone you've booked plenty of hours with that pays attention and sees that you don't play a whole lot of hands, but are now. You probably look like a LAG.

Pre is a trivial fold both times, especially to a loose passive.

I would go a little larger on the flop raise.

I would size up the turn, definitely calling a raise, but non loving it given villain is passive, just don't think we can fold this hand.

River is basically all in, but yeah I'm calling with the second nut straight.

pre i dont open 108o, but AP we arrive at opportunity to play heads up, in position, deep stacked vs whale. disagree regarding fold to 3b. Villain is capable of making horrendous errors post flop almost certainly.

flop - clear choice in raise - we have a monster hand and therefore have urgency to build the pot. agree with 76o ^^ raise size is a tad small.

turn - lead turn for 250, lol/call (hopefully this is his spaz button)

river - call.

dont love life here regarding comments of V's passiveness but there are numerous hands we beat that he potentially is overvaluing.

I'm not thrilled with pre. If I raise this hand from CO, and I don't very often, I go bigger, but $15 might be the norm for your game. (In my 1/3 game, $15 is normal w/ no straddle.)

Does he often raise his straddle? What's your range for him? It seems he'll call a lot, but doesn't raise much and is passive? Just fold to the 3bet.

As played, the rest of the hand is fine. If he binked better than you did, so be it -- we are here.
