Hero ($450) (SB)- tail end of session and not playing too out line because the table is pretty loose. Pretty standard for pots to be 5 way even with $20 raises pre. So Hero is at a great table.

Villain 1 - $250ish (BB)- plays a wide range - seems to like to limp call - haven't seen him get too out of line. Plays too many hands and seems to play a tad mubs. Don't think i've seen him raise yet but he will call a lot of ands.

Villain 2 - $600 (mid position) - haven't seen him raise too much but defiantly plays too many hands and doesn't seem to be very good. Seems to not care about the $$$ all that much and having a good time. Splashes around and can overplay some hands.

Folds to villain 2 - he raises to $17 - folds to me - I call with KK(SB) - I was thinking of 3betting but I didn't want to fold out a lot of his range - because I haven't 3bet once yet. I'm pretty sure if I 3bet he may see my hand as pretty face up. I also want to under rep my hand so if I flop well I can win huge and the $17 bet is big enough and likely to go heads up. Unfortunately BB calls as well. Oh well.

3 way to the flop.
$51 pot
Q84

before I can check or do much mid position jams all in for $600 and says "I know I have the best hand." He than looks at me and says "I have AQ just fold and go onto the next hand. Stop wasting time."

3b pre, can't see folding here. If he jammed a set or AA to cooler your tits off then whatever, you got two outs anyway.

Hero tank calls and BB tank folds. Villain shows AQo Run out is clean.

Villain stands up and says "You tricked me! I wish you re raised with your KK and I wouldn't of played my hand like this!" I said ya i'm not sure if I played it correctly but it worked haha.

I think this was one of my wildest/weirdest hands i've played that session.

If we are 3betting KK are we also 3betting a hand like TT or JJ?

I generally always 3bet AA/KK but i can see merit in just calling them pre if the pre flop raise is big enough.

Smells too fishy, I'll wait for the next hand.

How is it fishy, would the Villian as described over 10x pot jam with two pair or a set? Or more likely with a monster draw or AQ to 'protect' against a draw.
Personally I'd 3b out of the sb OOP 100% of the time.

pre is fine. definitely flat if u expect a fold too often or if villain will play close to perfect post flop against QQ+. 3bet pre in 95% of spot tho. JJ TT is different cause u dont crush much that will call u and stack off post

as played i call. his line plus speech is either really AQ or a big draw hoping u fold. rarely two pair or set

grunch: call... i think

talking like that usually shows strength. and that's a huge overbet. but his speech actually makes me think that he believes AQ is the nuts here. i'd go with my gut... and in this moment my gut says he probably has AQ or a flush draw so call.

i wouldn't blame you at all for folding though.

also, i would raise pre. i'm all about hiding monster pairs with just calls pre... but only in position.

read results. glad you won.

as for the follow up questions... my personal rule (when i'm actually adhering to my rules.. and of course i may deviate depending on villain or image) is to not just call out of position preflop with exceptions for set mining and flush mining. i'm either raising or folding most hands. 1010 and JJ i'm almost always 3 betting out of position.

Kudos, OP, on your good read. It's funny, just read another thread including V speech and consensus was that speech = monster and whatever hand V mentions he can beat. So here the opposite.

Is the read "can overplay some hands" enough to snap >$400 into huge overbet shove? QQ, AA and prob 88 all have to be in V's range. You're getting just better than even money isn't folding and looking for a better spot a smarter move and WAY lower variance.

Agree that occasionally flatting pre is okay, but better if in position, and also if it's headsup.

If flop action wasn't jumped out-of-turn, was your plan to donk, or to c/r? Hope you planned to get as much in as possible OTF and would act based on probability of a Cbet.
