1/2, $300 deep

7 handed vs two loose passive Vs

UTG limps, H (SB) $18 with JsJd, BB and UTG call

Approach 1: Conservative, planning to bet/fold every street

Flop ($54): 9s6s2c
H $25, BB folds, UTG calls

Turn ($104): 3c
H $40, UTG calls

River ($184): Qc
H $50, UTG calls

******

Approach 2: High risk, do or die

Flop ($54): 9s6s2c
H $50, BB folds, UTG calls

Turn ($154): 3c
H $125, UTG calls

River ($404): Qc
H shoves last $107, UTG calls

I find myself taking the conservative approach almost always when 150bb deep.. but a lot of the reg crushers in my pool tend to just bomb it off in these spots and go for the max

Against loose/passives, overpairs are monsters. On a board like this, where it's very difficult for them to hold 2pr+ type hands, I prefer the aggressive approach. When dealing with loose/passives, since their ranges are so wide, my worry about facing 2pr+ applies to their offsuit holdings which are more frequent. If they have 2pr with a suited holding that's just unlucky with how wide their ranges are.

On this board I like going $40/$100/shove river ($140).

Can you ever bet fold turn? They never show with worse.

I like 40 on flop, and often checking the turn when called, depending on how light loose passive peels the flop.

I prefer a b/b/x line with a potential FD on the board. It isn't for protection, but rather to drain out more money from the FD chasing if it is there. Against loose passives, I want to size the bets to over 1/2 PSB.

So pretty much almost the same line I took except you check river? But then, idk what to do when they bet when checked to.

Why would you check turn vs fish? This guy would always raise flop with 2p+.

With the read of a loose passive player, I'm mostly folding in this situation. LPs treat poker as a game of whoever hits the biggest hand by the river wins. They will show down virtually everything to see who won after you check. They aren't going to bluff regularly enough to justify a call.

If you're up against a player that bets at any weakness, you're going to have to make this call.

I never said you couldn't. That's absolutely fine.
