UTG VPIP/PFR indicate he leans loose passive, so flatting may not be bad. If you want to iso, why not 3b to 12bb, which would put opponent AI? Lot of players behind, so putting your stack in will be a flip at best if called.

your right about loose passive part and AI, but if i bet 3bet-12bb then i might get some callers with medium pocket pairs and over cards like KQ and they could smash the board and i lose 12bb or more. QQ rarely shows up pre so I might of made the right play, Idk. Then again you might be correct to 3bet to 12bb. Both plays have there pros and cons

thanks a lot for your insight

The question you need to ask yourself here is what are you hoping to achieve with this jam. If V is halfway decent, he’s always folding hands you beat here and only ever calling with hands that dominate you or at best AK. So you’ve put yourself in the situation of never getting value and always getting dominated, this is definitely not the ideal way to play Jacks.

Jacks are awkward and ****ty to play, they feel strong pre but at the end of the day they’re only a single pair and the 4th best at that. Not a hand we really want to play for stacks with. There’s so much debate about the “right” way to play Jacks, but like everything in poker it depends on so many variables.

I’m this situation against the under the gun raiser who’s range is so strong, I don’t mind a flat pre but I prefer a 3bet/fold with the plan to continue on any flop with no overs and checking almost all A/K/Q high flops.

JJ is ahead of med pps and KQ, with the chance of over cards flopping ~ 57%, so about 5 in 9 times. If an over hits, JJ should slow down. Yes, you would lose 12 bbs. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose.

It is likely QQ would have 4-b pre, and you could fold since 4b usually are QQ+, losing 12bb rather than 52bb.
