Villain1: Irrelevant
Villain2: Irrelevant
Villain3: Recently sat down, had a platinum rewards card, said he was waiting on a 2/5 seat to open up, seemed like a 2/5 reg.
Hero: Doubled up early in the session then went card dead. Probably has a nit aggressive image.

Villain1 (UTG, $200): limps
Villain2 (UTG +1, $250): limps
Villain3 (HJ, $200): limps
Hero (BTN, $350): raises to $15 with 68

Villain1: folds
Villain2: folds
Villain3: raises to $60
Hero: shoves

Villain3: folds

Hero thought that Villain3 thought that I was squeezing light (he was right), so I thought that Villain3 would be 3! light. How bad of a play was this?

I don't like it. His raise is transparently bull****, but he's getting almost 2-1 on a call. Going to be hard for him to fold anything remotely decent.

Why? Just why?

Give us some reason why you decided to shove $200 with 68 against a player that you know plays higher stakes?

I know these got through but the first time you get caught doing this your credibility is going to drop to zero against anyone with a pulse. I would pocket the extra $200 or so and then if you plan on continuing to make bluffs start reading everything you can about signs of weakness and make sure you are making reads before continuing to make this type of play. I play very fast and I know Bob does too but both of these hands are lacking a lot of the reasoning necessary to make the plays profitable long term.

+1 let alone if he is just some gamble fish that decides to 'flip' with you w 98dd or something and ends up scooping w 9 high. We have no read on this guy other than that he has money for the next highest stake and every table game/slot in the casino. Not a good person to try and push off a hand pre for $140 that he might be wiping his ass w in the morning for all we know imo.

I usually agree with Sungar78 and this is no exception.

We all love the button.

We all love to steal.

We all love to steal from the button.

But with 68s we can flat with impunity from the button.

I prefer the squeeze raise (like we did in the OP) with broadway cards or just maybe T9…

.. because even if our Villains think we are FOS, our cards might be live and we might "accidentally" make the best hand often enough to somewhat make up for our spew.

With 68 it's not nearly as likely.

But that's just MHO.

Deep limp re raising sounds like he is goofing around. It also sounds like he is never folding. But you got away with one. When he calls you are just gambling (and leaking) and as mentioned toying with your table image.

Preflop I do not endorse raising 3 limpers in this spot unless they do limp and fold.
