7-handed 1/2 table

V ($900, UTG) is an OMC guy who has built up his stack after getting it in reluctantly 3-way with flopped top two (T7cc) in the blinds in a single raised pot on a T73hh board against KThh and T4ss (lol) and tripled up. Before that, he got stacked when his top set unluckily lost to rivered flush.

Hero ($650, BTN) is a TAG winning player and V is aware of that.

The problem with the below hand is I wasn't paying enough attention to know what OMC's small EP opens mean.

OTTH

OMC opens to $8 UTG, 2 calls, Hero calls OTB with AQo

Flop ($35): A 4 5
OMC bets $15, only Hero calls

Turn ($65): 4
OMC checks, Hero checks

River ($65): 2
OMC bets $20, Hero ?

1> I didn't 3bet pre because we were so deep, I was just trying to play a pot in position against some bad players

2> OTF, I was slightly afraid of AK in OMC's range and was planning to call and evaluate, because a raise for information would be bad and he wasn't calling a raise with worse because I saw him muck a set on a 4-straight board earlier.

3> OTT, I just wanted to control the pot and go for 1 street of value on the river incase he has a worse ace. I eliminated AK from his range.

4> OTR, I didn't think he'd ever have a 3 here, so the only hand I lose to is Axcc. And he might be 1/3 potting AJ/AT OTR.

Call or fold river?

Yeah. Figuring out what these little raises means is huge. From some players it is 86s or QTo trying to ''set the price''. From an OMC, often means AK,AQ.

Gotta bet that turn.

Your hand is so under repped you have to call the river getting better than 4-1.

Your villain description really gives us no information to range the opponent (aside from him being an OMC type). How often does he raise? How many hands does he play? Does he raise from EP? Is a raise to 8 normal for him? Has he played AK type hands before and how did he play them?

In general with a small raise and dead money out there, I like a 3bet preflop for value. Vs an OMC type we are unlikely to lose much money even if villain does have us dominated. AQoff doesn't play that well in multiway pots so my preference is to narrow the field a bit. Turn, I like a bet/fold for value (then check behind this river). As played this is a pretty trivial call on the river. It could even be a blocking bet with a pocket pair.

Do true OMC's call pre-flop raises with 107s? Me thinks not.

Never folding for $20 OTR.

Not actual OMC, file that away for future reference. He may be tight but has some mix it up plays, he may like his suited aces too much or he could be looser then you think and just had an extended streak of bad cards.
