Hello all,

Full ring, pot is limped 5 ways.

Hero: 10h2h

Pot - $10

Flop - 10c 7c 2c

check to Hero, bet $10. Small blind calls, rest fold.

SB Villain - newest to table, never played with before, clearly aware and thinking player as he is taking notes live on pen and legal pad. Headphones, check. $120 effective stack.

Hero - mid 20s asian male. Frumpy, sweat pants and cardroom jacket on. $310 stack.

Turn - Qd

SB checks, Hero bets 20.

SB check-raises to 45.

Hero Folds fairly quickly, dies a little inside.

Villain won't show, tried.

General thoughts - behind sets, flopped flushes, 10xQx, 10x7x

20 bet, reraised to 45? You must call and hope for a 10 or 2 on the river. You don't know yet you are beat. If he's betting a queen the river could go check check. Too small a reraise to fold in my opinion.

Are you big blind? If not, fold pre.

AP, call, check/fold river.

Checkraise super small would be a very weird line with a top pair on this board. More importantly, you can't just look at this street in isolation. What did he check call with OTF? Unless he's just drawing to the bare Qc, he'd either need to have the Ac or Kc to go with his offsuit Q, or he'd need to have turned queens up. Him having just a Q on the turn is extremely unlikely.

Occasionally you run into people who use these small checkraises as bluffs, which actually isn't terrible if you pick your players to bluff, but typically this is just the nuts. Folding here all day.

Oh just to deal with the draw, you have to call 25 to win let's call it 250 assuming your full is always good and you win his entire stack on the river. 4/46 to hit on the river so less than 10%, so not good enough. I guess you could argue that maybe he might be bluffing and give up OTR (we can't call if he continues betting) and that that provides the missing equity we need. I'm just really confident this guy is not bluffing though. But it can't be a huge mistake to call, so if you're not sure, you can peel one off.
