Old man ($100)
CO ($140)
SB ($50)

Preflop($3)
Old man opens it to $14, Hero calls $14 SB raises to $50 all in, Old man raises to $100 all in, Hero???

Can't remember anything about SB other than he's bad and I'm probably ahead or flipping with him. Old man is... a typical old nit. I estimate his range to be AA/KK here.

You are getting 1.6:1. You are a pretty severe dog. This should be a no question fold. If QQ/AK/JJ are in his range, maybe you shove it in gamboooool, but if he really is a nit, fold.

Why? I've seen people post 4+ at a time in other boards. They all happened at the same time. Am I supposed to wait a day before posting hands?

This isn't a tourney, people fall in love with AKo but you said yourself you put him on a range of AA/KK

So given that range this isnt even a question.

Unless you can hope to be up against 88 and KQs or something random just fold. $14 is not much to lose here.

I mean, if theres no way you are ahead and you still wanna call then you are just gambooooling, which is OK, but dont expect to win more than you lose

Well the reason I posted this hand is because he showed up with AJo. The guy had been at the table for 2 hours and I had never seen him show down anything worse than QQ or AK so that AJo shove really threw me off. I'm just wondering if I can trust my intuition and experience when they were so very wrong this time.

So, the real thing here is how you categorized him as a nit. There are (at least) four possibilities:

1. You read him correctly, and he went insane for one hand. Happens.

2. You read him for a nit, but not for a smart nit, and he read you as an aggro donk against which AJ = nutes.

3. You misread him, but only because he had a horrid run of cards and anyone in the world would also misread him.

4. You confused tight play with nittiness, and didn't pick up on some clues that would move him out of nit-dom, making this a good call.

You can't do anything about 1 and 3--if that is the case, you just move on. But if 2 or 4 are the case, there are things to learn here ...

CALL ALL DAY!!!!!
Why do all the 1/2 guys think someone has aces or kings every time they get raised. do you really think he is opening 7BB with Aces or Kings? does he really want the $3, it looks to me like he has a medium pair, 9's to jacks and doesn't want to be racing with 3 or 4 overs. The short stack any ace or pair will make this move. with the dead money in there and you know you are seeing all 5 cards its a must push for 50BB.
