Hero ($200): Literally second hand at the table. Recognize a few regs, but none of them are involved in the hand.

V ($350): No reads. Greasy white guy wearing a parka.

5 people limp, Hero (BB) picks up AA, raises to $15. 3 callers.

Flop ($64):
KT3

Hero bets $40, V (UTG+1) calls, the rest fold.

Turn ($144):
J

Hero checks (bad?), V bets $40

Hero? Thoughts on all streets welcome.

Turn is not a good card for hero but not a terminally bad one either. Either checking for pot control or betting for value are reasonable here. As played, call turn and check/evaluate river. Notice that villain bet small, but sized to setup a river shove against your stack. That is a bad sign and you will have to lean fold if villain shoves river.

Raise more pre, like 20-25. With multiple limpers and being oop, I wanna get this heads up.

Ap, call turn, evaluate river.

Ditto the raise more pre. You are out of position and there are already five in the hand. Make it $20 to $25.

Agree to call turn for pot control. Terrible card for you. I think I would have c/c that turn, too.

His likely holdings are AK/KQ/KJ/KT/QJ/QT.
It's very unlikely that he flopped a set (as 33 is really the only one that makes any sense).
I'd call and see what happens on the turn.
Call river for most bets of $50 or less.

Raise bigger pre.

Think I prefer a blocking bet on the turn and fold if raised. A bet of $35 or so. Call as played.

Thanks for the replies. By the end of the session I had categorized this V as a nut peddling reg.

Raising more pre probably would have helped me avoid this situation.

Hero calls $40

River ($224):
Q

Hero is all-in for $105, V curses dealer, shows 33 and folds
