Hero - tight young asian guy, stuck $200

Villain - new to table asian reg, $300 stack

I raise on button to 10, sb calls, villain in BB raises to 50, hero tank and calls ( should be fold here right? ) i thought he could be suqeezing with something like AK or AQ, so I call. sb folds

Flop is

2 4 6 R,

Villain bets 75 quickly, hero folds?

At LLSNL against a random, unless you've seen evidence to suggest otherwise, assume a 3B range is JJ+, AK. Infact, even this range is probably too wide, and it weighted more to QQ+. People at LLSNL flat AK way too often, and almost never 3bet AQ.

The fact that he is Asian, and is a reg leads me to believe that AK and JJ might still be in his 3B range. Regardless, this is a fold pre against that range since we don't have correct odds to set-mine, and are still behind his range on most flops. I also suspect that Fold>>>>Shove>Call in this spot as well, since we might have some FE against AK, JJ, QQ if we shove.

As played, on the flop a fold is fine, since most Vs don't cbet overcards often enough, especially on a low-card board when they feel they can't get their opponent to fold a pocket-pair.

EDIT: Stoved our equity against his range (JJ+, AK):

Pre: 33.31%

Flop: 37.09%

Grunch.

Are you stuck $200, or stack $200? If you are stack $200, his 3bet to $50 is big, too big to set mine. Probably fold pre. Yeah, if you are going to fold this flop, definitely fold pre.

If you are going to call pre, you need some alternative plan for the flop besides flopping a set. If he will 3bet/cbet AK/AQ, you could plan to ship over his cbet on flops that don't contain and A/K/Q but even that is high variance. Standard play is to fold pre with these stack sizes.

If your stack is $200 you got to fold if he bets over $30, too big to set mine.

You should be folding this pre...you don't have odds to set mine and villain is brand new to the table.

If you are calling pre though with 77, you got one of the best possible scenario flops for you hand besides flopping a set. I strongly believe most 1/2 players 3 betting range is JJ+, AK so would most likely never be calling here in this type of game without reads pre. In theory though, if you thought you were ahead pre then why are you folding after this flop?? This play all around is lighting money on fire.....

Just fold pre....
