I'm posting these two spots because I played online exclusively for several months, and I think I've gotten too into the habit of checking range OOP on a lot of boards as I was taught to do...Hence the "too much," I know this doesn't apply as much live, but I'm not sure the extent to which I should be adjusting. I do think I botched both of these spots otf.

1. 1/2 - this hand is just 1/2 because it's a rock game (whoever won the last hand wins the rock and is the straddle, i.e. if you were HJ and won last hand, you'll have the straddle in LJ this hand) and the rock was in the blinds, so for those scenarios we don't have a straddle. CO is tight passive and has $300, BTN is tight passive and has $200, and hero covers both.

OTTH

Hero opens K K $15 LJ, CO and BTN both call.

Flop ($48): T 9 4. X around. I'm pretty sure online this spot would be advocated to check range. I can't imagine this is a check live, but maybe I'm wrong?

Turn ($48): 6. What sizing are you using here?

2. 1/2/11, the straddle is OTB this hand (villain added $6 to the rock.) Effective stacks are $600. Villain is loose passive.

OTTH

Hero opens K T $55 CO and villain calls.

Flop ($113): 9 7 6. X-x. This is another spot where I'm almost 100% sure that online this would be advocated to check 100%. I know in theory this is a horrible board, but I feel like versus a loose passive I can get away with betting most or all of my range here. I know that sounds crazy, but loose passives are just so wide.

Turn ($113): Q. What sizing are you using here?

Hand 1 lead flop. You have card advantage and initiative. Second hand I don’t know what to tell you because I don’t know positions, etc. Loose passive you say? Those are the types of players you value bet. Do you have a value hand??????

Out of curiosity, what are the factors that cause you to want to check range here? Just because we were the PFR and got called (and are OOP on the flop)? Or is it because these are low connected-ish boards that we’re less likely to have hit as the PFR? Or do you need both factors to be true to check range here? e.g., would you also range check a dry (day K72r) flop OOP?

Hand 1: This one really depends on villains. SPR looks to be under 10 and you have an over pair but you got a board likely to connect and 3 opponents. If opponents are tight and/or passive then I favor a bet. If opponents are more loose/aggressive then I favor a check on the flop.

With 1 or 2 opponents I would probably feel committed and bet to charge draws. With 3 or more I'm a little more careful.

Hand 2: You are right that you can bet loose/passive fish more just because they have to miss more flops. Multiway you still can't push it too far, particularly when large raise sizes make SPR small. This is a flop likely to connect with somebody and which gave you nothing but some overcards and weak draw possibilities.

Against two opponents I would mostly check this but make a c-bet rarely, I'm talking something like 1 time in 10. The c-bets here are mostly just to give a little balance so that not every bet I make in this sort of low SPR situation is a value bet.

Yeah, both. You wouldn't range check K72r.

H1: The deciding factor for me is the passiveness of both opponents. They will likely X back their draws, maybe even JJ, so I’d lead flop, $30.

Same sizing on turn.

H2: Again, opponent-dependent.
If V is an LP station, I’d X. If the flop had a diamond I’d cbet small, $40. Our hand blocks some TP.
