1/2/5 AA - Bet Or Check To Induce OTR? 1/2/5 AA - Bet Or Check To Induce OTR?

1/2/5, 9 handed, $1.3k effective as both villains cover. SB is a huge fish, I've only played with LJ for two hours at this point but he seems to be on the nittier side. Hero almost certainly has TAG image to LJ, I'm not sure if SB is paying attention at all but if he is I'm TAG.

OTTH

Straddle is CO this hands, SB limps, hero $35 UTG A A, LJ and SB call.

Flop ($112): T 9 9. SB checks, hero bets $40, LJ raises to $125, SB folds, hero calls.

Turn ($362): 4. X-x.

River ($362): J. Hero? There's no chance this guy has trips. He potentially could have 99-JJ and ATs, but 99 and TT are almost never fast played by the population. He could potentially have the three remaining combos of QJs, but people are so nitty that they might not even value bet that. I felt like the flop was super draw/airball attacking small bet that you see heavy, unless he has JJ or ATs...Why would he be raising 88 or worse otf? I can't ever see him calling a bet with 88 or worse either. By checking we open the door to missed hearts or random spazz to fire off again, but we also risk QJs, JJ, and ATs getting checked back.

I'm not sure I think we're "inducing" which implies to me a snap call or even raise to a river bet.. Are we really that happy calling a $250 to $300 bet here on the river?

The turn check is strange, and probably discounts a nine (not sure I'd rule it out completely).

I think I bet river small to get a crying call from AT, JJ,QJ,QQ (plenty of nits flatting this to an UTG raise), and obv fold to a raise

I think the flop raise is a "you have AK and missed" raise. Once you call, he's going to shut down. If anything, my feeling is that his betting range is larger than his calling range after the turn check. Let's see what he has by checking the river.

It's not the most perfect spot you could dream of, but I'm happily calling off any bet. He should never have 9x with the way he is playing. He should almost never have 99 or TT. We do lose to three combos of JJ, but that's about it.

Seems like a good spot for a block bet of around 100-125

I agree with this

This is another thread where you c-bet 1/3 pot and I don't like it

You can absolutely get value with a flop bet

Are we bet/folding or bet/calling?

My plan would be to bet/fold but only if a normal value size.

Bet / fold. We don’t expect to get raised often after turn check
