Stakes:
1/2 40NL, only allowed to buy in for 40 max and if/once you get felted you can rebuy between 20-60 (I always tend to rebuy for 60 if/when I bust)

20 minutes into a new session

Hero- has played two hands thus far (in the blinds) and folded twice in multiway pots with junk

Villain- has been loose passive and has shown down one winning hand with top pair, weak kicker vs. a extremely lucky calling station (has put together a stack of $400+ after being on the winning end of a streak of bad beats from what I've heard from table talk)

Table- has been mostly loose with multiple family pots, lots of limping, other than lucky calling station, most stacks range between 60-80 with a couple of 20-30, and two over 100.

Three limpers, Hero wakes up to 88
Hero Raises to $12 in Cutoff (stack of $37)
Villan calls in BB (Covers Hero with ~$50)
Folds around and goes HU to flop

Flop is 994
Pot: $27 ($31-$4 rake)

Villain checks
Hero bets $12

Villain check raises All In

Hero ??? (has $15 remaining)

Would shoving pre result in mostly being only called by better hands?

Probably optimal. Seriously.

Shoving pre is probably fine.

Shoving the flop is also fine.

Fold pre the 2 hands you had junk before this hand.

Seems that the consensus is to not play this game at all. I've been playing it for a year+ and didn't wanna move up unless I started beating it or put aside the proper bankroll for a bigger game.

The $4(2BB) rake by the flop makes for 10% of the capped $40 (20BB) buy in, I play it very ABC and usually only come in for a raise at 3x(+1x for every limper considering that most hands I'm playing for my stack unless).

It seems to me that you all are opposing this game for the capped buy (so low it's a shove-fest) and the (relatively) high rake. Any other reason to not play that I'm missing or not considering?

Thanks all, I appreciate the feedback.

The only thing you're going to get good at by playing this game is a short stack strategy. Find somewhere with a 100+bb buy in and learn to play deep stacked. I can't even imagine playing in a game like that

He did fold the junk hands.

Where you play do they let you take your blind money back when you fold?
