1/2/4 Low Draw heavy board, too thin to raise? 1/2/4 Low Draw heavy board, too thin to raise?

1/2 with live straddle

Table has been pretty standard. There is a couple regulars at the table, one of whom is playing every pot and being a huge spew - the other an old super nit.

Hero (450$): Have not gotten out of line yet. Only one showdown in the last 2 hours where I check called $40 a board of 988Q6, to the spewy reg for most of my profit.

V1 (150$): Sticky player that is in nearly every pot, chasing draws and over valuing his hands. Went allin on a hand about an hour ago with 108hh on a 1067dd after a raise and reraise and ran out against QQ, has spewed since just being involved in every pot.

V2 (~300$): Old reg, very nitty. Not much else to be said. ABC.

V3 (300$): Brand new to the game

Hero is BB for 2, V1 is $4 live strad. 3 limps. SB calls. Hero call with 77, V1 raises to $14. All call.

6 to flop $84pot: 642

SB check, Hero check, V1 bets $36, V2 calls, V3 calls. SB folds. Hero???

Your plan was to flop a set. You missed your set. Given how bloated the pot is getting, the fact that you are in poor position with 2 players behind you, and there is no safe turn card if you raise and get called, then I think you should just fold. Stick to your plan.

You likely have the best hand, but you can't see a turn 4 ways. Raise to $136 (V1's remaining stack). This should get V2 off most of his range, even a few small overpairs that beat you. V3 shouldn't be able to call either. He is raising sets and 2-pairs most of the time. V1 can still have anything.

If either V2 or V3 shove, you can fold. If either of them call, you probably shove non A or Diamond turns.

Either that, or fold the flop.

Raise > Fold > Call.

ok back to question - is this too thin to raise? Obviously fold is the norm.

Are we folding 99-JJ too?

Pot is $190 at this point, so your raise is going to need to be ~$150+ to have any real effect. So, far all intents, you may as well shove given stacks. As such, too thin for me. You're never getting called by worse, and you're essentially bluffing.

I dont think the question of whether we're folding 99-JJ is relevant at this point, because presumably we're raising those PF.

You could arguably raise 77 after the limp fest PF, I would say ~$25, but thats a little thin as well.

I just fold here. No reason to get a bunch of money in with a hand that is either behind at the moment, or a dog to a hand like QJdd or A5/A3dd.

Whats the logic in shoving? (serious question, not trying to be snide here)
