you don't give us much for V detail
so we make assumptions based on our typical opponent

a 1/3 to 1/2 PSB gets called on the flop 90% of the time in my games
where a healthy 3/4-to 1PSB will get folds enough to take down the pot on the flop

a 2nd barrel from the PFR should get most to let go of a 9
and def fold out overs, some say we have SDV ;
I say lets cash in our FE and avoid the river.
if then bet into on the river by V its either a missed draw or a monster
would they c/c c/c bet a 9
you being there have to make some sort of read

So you want folds from worse hands like second pair on the flop? Then you’re basically bluffing/semi-bluffing rather than value betting flop, no? Because overs or some random garbage will fold to half pot bets anyway too.

Our hand is really in the middle so I don’t know which option is really better—- do we want folds or a call from worse?

Also, if we want to take the “bet bigger” line, we can do the same after betting smaller OTF and going bigger OTT. That way, we have more information about their hands when they passively just call flop.

agree with bolded
1/2 PSB may get overs or smaller pair to call
so then with what looks to be a safe turn you needed to follow thru; but you checked and now face a river bet in no mans land

or play smallball and check down flop & turn and call river

in the local games here players float small c-bets on low flops all the time
its a bet sizing tell they don't realize they are doing and I take advantage when able.
