Buyin Max - 400
Button (me) - $400
BB (kill) - $400

**Special note, this game allows for a killpot and the table agreed that whoever won a pot, would be entitled to it. This "kill" in a nolimit game means that you are automatically in for $5 and in order to play the table has to play for a minimum of $10 (which would be now considered a limp, crazy eh?)

***My standard raise is always 3-4x+1bb per limp and doesn't change relative to hand strength.
Table history - Very early in game.

UTG Open limps ($10)
UTG+1 follows ($10)
MP follows ($10)
Button (Me) looks down at 35 and decides I want to get frisky - Raise $30
SB - 3bet! $60

All fold to me.... who makes the LOL call.
($150 pot)

Flop 793

SB Checks Flop - I bet $80
Turn (Pot $310) 8
SB Checks, I bet $120

SB shoves, I call.

Against An overpair I know I'm ahead by just a few percent on that flop, on the turn I turn into a 30% dog, and worse against made hands.

The Preflop was ugly as hell and I agree should have been a fold in hindsite. That said, with how it's played do we feel semi okish calling this off if we give OP credit for an overpair?

Preflop raise to 30 with 3-5 is just incredibly bad, even on the button. Calling the 3 bet just compound on your first mistake: wich was the 30 raise in the first place.

After villain calls the turn, i would have checked back the turn to make sure i didnt get raised off my hand and get to realize my full equity.Once villain 3 bet pre and check-called the flop, i dont think he is folding much to you on the turn anyway, and chances are youre being trapped.

Instead you compounded your preflopmistake(s) once more: and made sure to bet/call the turn for a 200 BB stackoff. This is primarily why preflop is so so important, because it often leads to incredibly expensive mistakes and situations postflop.

If I'm doing the math right it's $140 to call with $690 in the pot. Given those odds calling it off looks correct. Expect to lose more then win but the handful of hands that you are not getting odds against are insanely unlikely given the play.

The mistakes are all in getting to that point. Everything up until that point is marginal to bad.

Does not compute. Should be at least $60 according to what you said. That tiny raise will knock out exactly zero limpers, and since you are now playing 5/10 with only 40BBs, you're not likely to have much FE against whichever one of them hits a piece.

If you're going to try to steal, get real with it (though I do not advise it after three "limpers" for what is normally 5xBB), otherwise, chuck it in the muck.

AP, snap fold to the min-re-raise. You aren't deep enough.

AP to flop, check it back and get the free card.

AP to turn, you have 4/5 of a PSB left. Either check back or shove it in and maximize your FE. Betting just over 1/3 of the pot is just silly. Obv once he shoves you can't fold for the last $140 needing only 17% equity, but you should never have got to that point.

Grunch.

Cool. I think you did everything wrong.

Obviously fold pre.

But if you're going to get frisky, then get frisky! 30 just further trashes your already-too-small IO and isn't getting anyone to fold. Make it 60. Don't try to skydive a little bit.

AP, obvious fold to 3b is obvious.

Flop: lightning strikes! Time to make SB's head explode and put him on tilt to set up a big pot later.

There's 150 in the pot with 340 behind. Overbet ship it. V is very unlikely to have a set. He's very likely folding AK to any bet and may well x/shove over a bet anyway. Put him to a tough decision. Do you have Ah3h? Do you have 33, 99, or 77? Could it be a smaller overpair? QQ to his JJ? Who knows? We have 49% of the pot against JJ+ and at least some FE against his AK or worse 3b of our tiny PFR.

Turn: woot! We complete the n-fecta of everything wrong. Check this back. Turn isn't particularly scary and getting x/r allows V to charge us the maximum to realize our equity when we have to call.

Pre is horrendous. MAYBE limp OR raise to 60 or 70 if you're confident people will fold (but I wouldn't). But a raise to 30 is inviting disaster. You didn't follow your standard raise rule. I guess after the SB min-raises, you sort of have to look at a flop for $30 more.

Why are you betting turn, especially that small? What was the point?

Preflop is WTF, as noted. Just shove turn. AP trivial call.
