Villain is in his late 20s seems like a tag, was betting when I first sat down, but has slowed down the last hour.

Im in Middle pos. with 1010

Stacks are equal at about 350$

straddle under the gun for 10, I pop it to 30 villain calls 30 on the button.

flop(90$)Q7J

Utg checks I check and so does villain on button.

turn(90)2 utg checks I check again, and villain fires 55$

thoughts??

By checking twice you have made it look like you are giving up on the hand. And you have induced the turn bet. By doing this you have not narrowed button's range at all. And you have encouraged him to see showdown even with weak made hands like a J or 99-33. I think you now have to call and evaluate river.

As mentioned, you invited him to take a stab at the pot and V can hold a wide range of hands. Any prior reads or betting patterns on V could help slightly at this point, but you've dug yourself a hole that at this point is probably most profitable to fold out.

I ended up folding, but immediately regreted it.

When you check twice you are tossing in the towel. I'm fine with a check on the flop. The turn is debatable, I don't think you are getting a J to fold so I think just check folding is the right play

Call, clubs and gutters can fire after two checks and we lose to AJ/KJ/JT, turn is a call unless you've seen him play TP slow
River is funky if he bets again on a blank but it's gotta be a call again, hard to see anyone that isn't really good going for two streets with Jx

Easy fold, you are not going to be able to get value for worse hands. This is not a good board to cbet. C/f is fine.

Fold. Don't know why you regret it, unless you switched your focus to results-oriented.

I may even raise bigger pre but as played calling is bad as you had no clue where you are at. That board smacks Vs perceived range but you really have no clue if he has mostly draws or a hand like AJ. Just fold and move on.
