This is at a 1/1 home game that gets together about twice a week. Most players are pretty bad, but a couple are decent to pretty good. One player is a poster on 2p2 (Besides myself. Also, he's not the villain in the hand.)

Hero ($100): TAG, early 20s white guy, one of the winning players at this game. However, can get in some sticky spots OOP. (I'm working on it, thus this hand..)

Villain (covers): pretty LAG, tends to bluff a decent amount, loves to apply pressure, but can slow down when he needs to most of the time. Plays a wider range in position. Mostly respects hero, but is capable of moves maybe once a game.

Action folds to Hero in the HJ, he looks down at KQ, and opens to $4.

Folds to Villain on the Button, who calls. The blinds fold.

Flop ($12): QJ8

Hero leads for $7. Villain thinks for a bit and calls.

Turn ($26): 6

Hero leads for $19. Villain calls pretty quickly.

River ($64). A

Hero: ?????

Any input on the action before the river is fine too.

All looks good to me so far. If he's got a bit of the LAG in him, I prefer a c/c on the river to let him bluff his missed draws, which also has the advantage that he'll often check back with SDV, so we get to realize ours often cheaply. Against a more passive V, I'd b/f for 30.

I prefer c/c so you get there cheaply and possibly induce J9 or diamond draws to bet as a bluff.

Agree with all the above. Plus this is a scare card in that it's an ace which, along with his busted flush draws and LAG/bluffy tendencies, makes a river bet look to me like a bluff lots of the time. I'm not too afraid of being beat.

I was thinking maybe river is a c/f if he bets pot. River is a good bluff card. V knows that we know that and assumes that once we check we have SD value and intend to call if he bets. Plus, most of his draws got there. KT, Axdd, Axhh, A8, AJ, A6dd, etc. In game I'm prob c/c every time tho cause I'm a level 1 pow.

I think you're giving V too much credit, tbh. Plus there are a lot of busted FDs that weren't drawing to the nuts that will often stab at this.

yeah you're right. He does have enough missed draws to make it a c/c.
