1-1 NL Mohegan Sun

Hero: (110) Only at the table for ~30 minutes, won a few pots without showdown. Floating right above my $100 buy in.

V1: (120) New to the table, hasn't played a hand yet, early twenties long hair looks like he knows what he's doing.

V2: unknown, somewhat irrelevant

3 limpers before hero who is dealt J9 on the BTN

Hero limps SB and BB Check

Flop (6) 959

V1 in the SB checks

Checks around to V2 who bets 5

Hero Calls, V1 calls, others fold

Turn (21) 959Q

V1 checks

V2 bets 5

Hero raises to 25

V1 calls, V2 folds

At this point I am putting V1 on 9x weaker than mine or Qx but not as likely.

River (76) 959Q2

V1 checks

Hero?

I will post the river play after some feedback, let me know!

Just shove. At this level, he's most likely not folding any 9 or Q. If he missed his FD/SD he's not calling any bet so might as well bet larger.

Your hand is insanely face up but yeah, i raise this most of the time though depending on villains and stacksizes

Edit: talking about preflop. River is a bet

Hero shoves the river for 79 into 76.

V1 tanks for a minute and says, "you got a boat buddy?"

After a minute or two V1 calls and turns over A9 and takes the pot.

Is this a standard shove which just kind of ran into a cooler? or can this bet force a stronger 9 to fold enough of the time to make it profitable, player dependent I guess.

There's no reason to check that river back though I feel, is that correct?

the reason you ship river is because of your remaining $ and starting stack sizes. with 100 BB and river situation youre almost always getting your money in with no draws that hit here hoping for any pair or lower 9 to call you

also with your stack sizes its hard to get any fold equity on river and 9s are definitely not folding unless he has like 93 or something

biggest leak is probably the preflop limp.. j9o generally a fold

you cant play this hand another way on the river imo with given stacks
