Playing a juicy game at my local cardroom, it's about 03:30 and most people at the table are willing to gamble. We are 6 handed and hero covers the table with £685 behind. Hero has a good/maybe slightly tight image, hasn't shown down any trash and hasn't been c-betting light very often due to the looseness of the game. Thought the hand in question would be a good hand to semi-bluff because of the credit i'd get from the table.

Villain has £650ish stack and is a semi-reg that hero hasn't played with before. Seems like a young recreational player who likes to gamble but was also certainly poker literate. Spun his stack up from gambooling with 2 similar players on the table. V has 3bet once in 3-4 hours and showing down ace king, but calls fairly frequently oop and calls flop bets fairly light. Havent seen much aggression from v apart from one hand hero was involved in. Hero raised the button with Q9dd and c-bet a Qx4h4x board, villain flats, turn is Ah, villain leads for less than half pot hero calls, river is 7h villain bets half pot. Hero folds and V claims he had q8.

Hand in question was triple straddled to £8 with me first to act on the button and villain in the BB

Pre is a little loose, if the straddles are pretty sticky post-flop I might actually fold pre-flop. I'm betting $175-180 on the river, good spot for us since if V somehow called us down with Ax I doubt he's folding when he makes trips on the river. V can definitely also have smaller flushes and A2 in his range by the river. V would most certainly raise the flop with hands like two pair(A4, A5) and sets (44, 55) on a very draw heavy board so I don't see him ever showing up with a boat unless he precisely has A3 or 33 I guess. This is not a thin value spot btw.

How is this thin? Make it 200.
