1/1 calling down loose villain with Aces? 1/1 calling down loose villain with Aces?

Playing a 1/1 home game where all players are fairly familiar with each other at this point (we have to do random seating now).

Edit: Effective stack size is ~$175 against main Villain, he had me covered.

Main villain is an extremely loose player, will see a flop with any two cards, but has pretty good post flop play, with good mix ups. He usually either wins 400+ or loses 400+ in any given night.

Hero has AsAh

Main Villain is bb and Hero is utg
Preflop hero raises utg to 4

4 callers (UTG +2, MP, SB and BB), 5 handed to the flop:
Flop 5s6dJs
Both blinds check, I bet $20 into $20. Only BB calls

Turn is 9s, V leads for around $35, I call going into showdown mode

River is a brick, I believe an offsuit 3
V bets a little over $60
Hero?

I ended up calling and losing to 87 offsuit for the turned straight. V played it totally fine, wondering if I should be getting away from it here. With my history against him it felt like a very tough spot to me, especially holding the A of spades blocker to the flush.

Thoughts?

Raise larger PF. We are 175BB deep, so we want to start building the pot with the best hand. Also, we don't want everyone to call.

As played, seems pretty standard. Not folding the river.

If you are familiar with the Villain, then you should have some sort of read on his tendencies. What are his bluff tendencies likes? Is he capable of turning 23 or 67 into a bluff here?

First thing, don't post the result until others have commented. Also, post how much the pot is on each street.

Raise more preflop, unless 4 bb is the standard open in your game. I see players raise more when they have a premium hand, and less when they don't. They are easy to read.

You're actually not going into showdown mode. You have two aces and the nut flush draw on the turn. Easy call on the turn.

Most players who play passive until the turn, then start playing aggressive...this usually means that V made his hand on the turn. That could be a straight (87) or a flush. You can beat KJ or QJ with the K or Q of spades. So this is a read dependent spot. Is V capable of bluffing the flush card on the turn? Given that he's a loose player, probably yes.

Against this player, I think you have to call. So you played it fine.

Got it, thank you for clarifying for me! Should have been more familiar with the format. Thanks for the advice on the hand as well!
