Hi everyone,
I started playing live on lowest stake i found in my town. I played two sessions till now. First time i was playing for 10 hours and lost about 150 bb,second time i won 60 bb after 4 hours playing, cause i got job early in the morning.
This 50/50 play is soo loose.A lot of limping and calling with garbage of cards, paying a lot for draws,or with TPBK or MP or BP hoping for second pair,trips,etc..(classic).
Also, almost nobody is buying in for 100bb,but they buy in 4,5,.. times for 40 or 60 bb.
A lot of them just cant fold a vg hand, second or third nuts in AI pot and they addmit that after loosing (like :I must pay it with this, or :no way u could fold that..).
That kind of game affects me after few hours and i start playin the same game, playing cards and no poker, and it become something like high variance, short stack poker. And Im just not comfortable with that play and im making more mistakes, specialy on the river when im commited and R is killing me.
-I have more to say but you get the point
What is your advices ?
-thas it sucks a bit to just play tight aggressive and just fold most of the time?
-For how much to BI ? for 100bb or average for the table.
-how many hours should i play and when its time to stand up or cash out ?
-and everything else what comes to ur mind
ps. I think I know the most of answers but as beginner i need to hear it from others also. TY

Hi, welcome to the forum. I strongly suggest that you read the threads that are stuck at the top of the forum page. Many of your questions are answered in those threads.

I'll leave this open for a bit since you are new, but as read through the threads, you'll see that generic multi-question threads are discouraged and locked. The reason is that the answer is almost always, "it depends."

I do want to say something about one of your comments,

People play poker for many different reasons. A lot of times the priority isn't winning money. That doesn't mean they don't want to win. However, playing winning poker means that other goals have to be secondary at best and often sacrificed. I am going to guess that everyone else is having fun, mostly drinking alcoholic beverages. People are mentioning that you aren't and looking down at you. You're getting bored folding when everyone else is having fun. And on top of everything, 1 or 2 of them win a bunch of money having fun while you're stuck folding and having no fun. That's why you start playing like them.

So you have to decide why you are playing. If you want to have fun gambling, then we are of little help. Accept poker is going to be like an evening out on the town and you will most of the time come back with less money in your wallet. If you want to win consistently, then accept that fun will be an occasional by-product of playing, but you'd rather have the money and the insults. We can help you get better.

However, we can't help you have fun every outing and be a winning player. You have to decide which.

Quoted for truth.

The best way to make money in these games is very boring ABC play. Raise silly large with premium hands for fat value, check/fold on the flop if you miss, Bet/bet/bet if you get top pair good kicker or better, and live with the variance.

When it's playing a bit deeper stacked, you can overlimp some speculative hands, knowing that if you flop a good draw, they will probably bet too small and let you draw, plus they will often pay you off if your draw hits. That only works against Vs who are at least 65BBs deep though, so if none of them are in the pot or likely to come in, just play premiums for big raises.
