my image is of a competent, sometimes aggressive player.
0.5/1 NL - 7 handed
UTG
UTG+1 (120)
HJ (200)
CO
Hero (300)
SB (300)
BB
Hero is dealt J
9
.
everyone limps, SB raises to 4, BB calls 4, UTG calls 4, UTG+1 calls 4, HJ raises to 21, CO folds, Hero calls 21, folds, UTG+1 calls 21
i was about to raise OTB to take it down/isolate IP but saw SB reaching for chips, so i decided to let him bloat the pot and then 3bet. a couple others saw that i was about to raise and then just called so i thought my limp raise would show a lot of strength. SB is a fish with a high PFR so i wasn't worried too much with his range.
HJ who is competent and tight changed my plan. i saw him limp raise twice before and in both cases it was AK and i was pretty sure that's exactly what he had. since i had some sort of hand, knew pretty welly what he had, expected at least SB to join along and we were all pretty deep i decided to call.
UTG+1 is a tight passive player who i don't know so well and i put him on a medium PP.
Flop (76) Q
J
3
UTG+1 checks, HJ checks, Hero checks
Turn (76) Q
J
3
5
UTG+1 checks, HJ checks, Hero checks
River (76) Q
J
3
5
2
UTG+1 checks, HJ checks, Hero ??
HJ in general doesn't slow play and is also careful in mw pots.
i'm pretty confident i have the best hand, especially OTT & OTR, can i thin value bet anywhere and expect to get called from TT/99/88/77? i think the only hands i'm beat by are if UTG+1 shows up with JT or AJ.
would appreciate comments on original preflop plan, preflop as played and postflop.. thanks!
