I can bet fun tickets.
I took the Cap'n at even money before the official line was posted and he wasn't getting any love. I also did it as a gesture of my forgiveness for his sorry treatment of me in that Mirage hand.

However, now I'm simply trying to manipulate the line, then bet the wedge right before the match starts.

Incidentally, does this mean I have to get a Stars account to do my rooting and heckling during this match?

I think you have used genius to manipulate the online guy out of his biggest crutch. I congratulate you on getting a big leg up to start the match.

Spoiler:
One small piece of bad news here, I typically don't use a HUD HUHU. I don't think that stats are that useful, it is easy to click the button to see mucked cards, and I prefer to use reads. Also, as people tend to change gears a lot HU, the stats can be pretty misleading. One of the fun aspects of playing HUHU is not paying attention to stat reads.

Everything sounds good. I expect that you'll be a tougher opponent than you're giving yourself credit. Unless you think I'd ever fold anything as good as 8 high on the river.

I once played 20/40 3 ways with $1000. I lost it in 20 minutes and won it back in 25. Therefore the average swing in that game is $2000 per 45 minutes live, which means at 2/4 the average swing is 20 every 45 minutes live, and this is online so it's 10 times faster like everyone says, so the match will last 4.5 minutes.

In order to manipulate the line, we're going to need...what's it called? Ah yes...action. If you're interested in betting some full tilt dollars let me know.

There's a button you can click to see mucked cards?

There is a button that lets you see cards that went to showdown. Online, IWTSTH is always in effect.

Yes, you need to download PS. If you promise to be good and not tell anyone stuff during the match, you could watch it on TeamViewer from my PoV. I'd be happy to share my desktop with you so you can see how your prop is going.

I'll offer you 3:1, promise to press the raise button preflop on the first hand at every opportunity, promise not to try to influence the Captain in any way, and bet you $300 to your $100 that it won't go 27 bets preflop on the first hand. Book it?

I think Jesse offered 5:4. Yes, you're going to need Stars to watch this live. Doug said he might make a video, presumably from his side.

3 handed is very different than 4 handed. Both of those are markedly different than HUHU, imo. In three handed, you have a button who didn't invest $. In 4 handed, you have an UTG who has to worry about the BTN who didn't invest $. I think the difference between 4 and 5+ is smaller, but still notable. Someone who is really good at all flavors might disagree. I start a lot of games, and I think you should shift gears at each spot; I may not be an expert.

All that said, I think it will take some runhot to get the match over in less than 1/2 and hour. If the match finishes that quickly, the loser will have had a lot of decent 2nd best hands and the result will be mostly luck.

Awesome. I'm a full-ring 9-handed player, so this should be right up my area of expertise. 4-handed is at least basically the same as 9-handed, right? So I'm only off by about 3 orders of magnitude.

Sounds like me. Or rather, a lot of games get started around me. Is that the same thing?

Well, considering my average session length is 2 hours (about 80 hands), and I'm sitting out about 80% of them, if this thing goes 200-300 hands, that will be the equivalent of me playing about 30 hours straight. I better get a good night's sleep!

I still can't believe you're not giving a spot for people who want to bet on me.

Yes I am setting the line at 5:4 and want to put action down on Captain R getting the odds. Leo, text me if you want to bet.

It would be better if a railer could make a video, so the hole cards aren't seen.

Let me get this straight, Doc put down $20 on Captain R at even money. He then bets $100 on me giving 5:4. Is this some kind of reverse parlay? He middles himself?

The only person who I bet was you, and I gave you ~3:4, which is better than what I consider fair odds. OTOH, you gave me a night of sleep back, so the $0.40 of Sklansky Dollars I gave you is well spent.

pssssst. captain r.,

james here.

i'm sending this pm to offer you a great opportunity. we both know you don't stand a chance in this format, and i think it's highly unfair that you've been called out for this match in what is obviously a very biased structure. give me your login info, and i'll play doug l for you. i have HUHU experience, and i love a win/win situation(i.e. if i win i out that it was me and if i lose i deny, deny, deny).

we need to keep this under wraps tho. my fee for this will be 1million pesos, transferred to my secret account in the first nacional band de mehico. pm me back if you're interested.

don't be a loser,

James.

Doc is just too nice of a guy. I think he just wants to make sure everyone is getting action.

I realized a while back that video coaching sites are basically a form of rake for the coaching owners.

Stars/FTP etc. are basically taking a tax on winning players (losing players just lose their money) and getting a cut of their winnings.

Coaching sites charge money to make you a winning player, but in effect are doing the same thing. They are creating a stable of winning players who take money from the other players and then getting a cut of that in the form of subscription costs. Since they can't directly take rake like poker sites do, this is the next best thing.

I figure if I take .40 of EV from a winning player, this is kinda the same thing...

I've got enough action from leo-doc, although could be convinced if someone vouches that you're a real person like to actually pay if you lose
