+1
I am betting this flop as obviously our hand has little showdown value and we can attempt to retain betting lead IP. I fully expect the possibility of being check raised by either one of the opponents as this board hits their defense ranges more than our opening range, even OTB. Also, because we do not have
blockers, c-betting is still optimal as opposed to giving/getting free card.
Dynamics of who and in what order call our bet and check raise affect ensuing action decisions, i.e. if SB flats our c-bet and BB check raises both opponents, I think we should be more inclined to fold regardless of what SB does. If SB check raises and BB cold calls, it's pretty iffy either way, but if we call, we definitely need to hit something on turn in order to continue.
As played, with the BB folding and being HU with the SB, calling in order to eval turn is OK. SB range can't be quite as wide as BB for obvious reasons of position and pot odds. Seeing as he didn't 3! PF, it's very close as to whether we're still in the lead with regard to this flop, SB's (defense) range and line thus far.
Whiffing the turn with this card and SB continuing to now lead into us forces us fold, even if we're somewhat irritated; raising makes so little sense, especially since we didn't 3! flop IP. Raising is just torching money as any competent opponent should see right through this and either call giving us a more chances to further hang ourselves with a bluff, or reraise knowing we have absolute air.
