I agree, but given that we know he's NOT going to fold (according to OP's read), we'd still prefer 4 bets to go in rather than 3, correct?

I could be off, but I see a parallel between this preflop situation and the "two overpair hands" section of "SSHE." By calling, we can face CO with 2 cold on the flop and protect our vulnerable pair.

I thought I was clear. When we cap our range is too narrow. Given the flop is getting bet 100% we can gain back the lost value on the flop all while keeping our range well hidden.

Well this one time, in the micro forum, I thought I'd start a thread about coldcalling in the small blind first in after a raise, in which Jon shared a bit of his experience playing against, and observing, players that he considered good. I couldn't argue against it. There were some other great responses in that thread, but Jon's really hit the mark.

I'd probably put a fourth bet in preflop thanks to the presence of our cold calling machine friend. That being said, don't three bet flop, check turn, and you might as well call most rivers given how juiced the pot is.

Remember the scene from "A Beautiful Mind" where all of the Princeton Professors give Nash their pens in admiration?

Well I give Jon my Ace of spades in admiration:

A

Good luck Jon and thank you again.

Years ago when Jake Arrieta was just buzz sawing people Mr. Locke was just betting every line every game. Under. Cubs. Cubs 1h. Cubs runline. Cubs 1h. Team totals. All of it. This man actually cashed the following ticket:

Jake Arrieta throws no hitter before taking a loss. +7000

Anyway some random Tuesday the Cubs are playing Milwaukee with like a double A call up doing a spot start vs Jake. The text reads

"They tried to scare me with that -320 today, but....the jokes on them, I don't look at the lines I just click bet"

Jon Locke: "just getting down as much as I can (on Floyd vs Connor). Parlayed it to a bunch of -1500 soccer games"

Me: wcgw

Jon: "well. I did lose one soccer game this morning..."

I love seeing that I posted in this thread ages ago, and now I completely disagree with what I wrote back then and would for sure just call here preflop, and depending on opponent, may not even stick a raise in at any point on this texture (though obviously would bet if checked to).
