Well you don't have to worry about me. I would never intentionally do anything that would cause you even a modicum of anguish. The knowledge that I had precipitated merely one tear from an angel would cause me an eternity of guilt. Of course if you gained 50lbs my sentiments might change. (I'm only human)

I like to build my castles only to destroy them in one fell swoop. That's how I roll in my sandbox.

How do most of you guys deal with tilt issues? Sorry if this has been brought up before.

I find losing more money to be the best approach. Then I check my bankroll. And with tears in my eyes I say aloud "not a measure of self worth" over and over--getting louder, angrier and more violent with each repetition. Poker can be an unkind mistress.

That's interesting. lol It's prolly been the hardest issue for me to deal with. How much of an affect on your winrate do you think it has?

Hard to say. I suspect it utterly destroys most of those who are plagued with this illness. There are measures you can take to combat tilt:

1) Have a large enough bankroll where the losses don't financially hurt much. 1000-2000BB's should do the job

2) Always focus on playing well, not your results.

3) Play in easier games where you have a larger edge. Just knowing you have a large edge can be comforting even if you have a losing session.

Taking these steps will still not eliminate that punch in the stomach feeling you get from losing. That feeling torments most for their whole poker career. Only an accomplished few can eliminate that vexation, but it still takes them many years to do so. If you ever do, you will have attained poker nirvana. (I don't know anyone who has reached that stage, and if they say they have they're probably lying)

Bonus step:

4) Learn how to handle the ups and downs of life better. It will carry over to your poker game.

Thanks for the response and tips. Well said. Its been such a hard battle lately trying to figure out ways to stay focused and not let emotions take control. I'll keep all that stuff in mind!

First, I raise more - and make sure I click the mouse really, really hard.

Once I getover that, I just sit out, go & stare out a window for a few minutes and think good thoughts, then I remind myself that I am a good player and go sit back in and play good cards as well as I can.

I'm actually surprised nobody's complained about this yet. I have link tourettes big time. Anyways, the only person that must click on my links is you given that 90% of the reason they're posted is for your amusement. Should I find out that you occasionally skip them I will be utterly mortified. I may even lash out and stop the cute cat video links. You don't wanna live in that world, trust me.

I never understood the concept of rickroll. Whenever I got rickrolled, I would listen to the whole song and enjoy every second of it just as I did when I was a kid in the 80s.
