Jacks in cutoff-should I quit poker? Jacks in cutoff-should I quit poker?

I suspect MrPoon is a troll.

I would check the turn and call a bet on the river, or bet if checked to on the river. That protects you against his weird screwplayed monsters, and lets him take another stab at the river with his weirdly played bluffs.

1. he doesn't..you reraise and he prob folds.

What's his thinking process that he can check raise me twice like that?
1. 1st check raise was fishing...2nd figured you didn't have an ace because you just called his raise on flop and like you said..2nd ace makes it unlikely anyone has a ace. Board couldn't be much dryer so he figured correctly that his kings were good.

If we were in prison would I be his b*tch? Coulda/shoulda I found a fold somewhere other than the river?
hard to fold jacks there with a flush draw on board, that combined with the way you described the guy..you had to call

Nothing wrong with betting the turn, and calling the raise on turn and the bet on the river. You have a very ace-heavy range but you also have a very draw-heavy range, so jacks are in the middle of it. You may have actually played the hand expertly and still lost. It was jacks against kings, that's a situation where you are going to lose money a lot of the time.

unless you're a great player who knows when to deviate, your goal should be to reach showdown as cheaply as possible when you have weak but showdownable hands.

i disagree with your reasoning that he would fold an Ace preflop. When players do call with a weak ace they generally check call down as they fear domination and look to induce bluffs from weaker hands. His check raise would more often then not be a club draw or perhaps str8 draw (45s) looking to semi bluff you off your hand, however if that were the case he would follow up with a turn bet almost 100%. I would check behind on the turn and call river. Even if your giving him a free turn card this is offset by him bluffing when he misses the river. Last note is, don't sweat too much looking or feeling foolish because your opponent played his hand in an incorrect and odd fashion. If you asked him to explain his logic he most certainly couldn't because his line and play (although tricky) was incorrect and highly illogical...
