I have never seen this before on a Limit hand except when two people have the nut straight on the river.... and it is very obvious that both players have the nuts and the hand is over.
This hand there were cards still to come and the outcome could change.

The villain was some crazy Asian gambling player that was killing me past couple of hours by nailing the flops with the random two cards he has been raising with from every position.
You can compare him to the guy in the Super Bowl Suite that tangled with Will Smith in the Movie Focus.

This time I called his OOP raise with A8 and I got the bingo flop of:
KJ5
I donkey bet into him
This is how the conversation and betting went after that:

Raise
3 Bet
4 Bet, All-In
Be Serious, 5 Bet
I am So Serious, 6 Bet
(To Dealer) Can we do that? 7 Bet
Dealer: Yes, The Floor man who just wandered to the table attracted from the comotion going on at the table, agreed.
The Villain had ~$700, I had ~$500.

I was hoping the Villain had the lesser flush, but thinking he might have a set for a ~35% chance, but I got the middle ground, KJo for ~17% and the board ran out for the nice double up.

Not much strat here. My kind of post. Pretty much always figure them for top set if it went that many bets and then he offered all in.

I'm pretty sure the 'crazy Asian gambling player' wasn't being superstitious and playing his rush against you, as that would not be fully rational. And we all know how these villains strive to maintain a rational posture. In casinos. When they gamble for money.

3 bet pre

In an attempt to shorten the post, I cut out that he appeared to have just as must fun losing that hand as when he a boat flopped with 84o after 3betting me preflop in a prior hand... My bad.

No, this was clearly a 'Crazy Story Post.'
The only 'Strat' involved was for me to jam the pot after flopping the nuts knowing that he would respond to my hyper aggression with even more aggression. And it worked to perfection! It also helped that he flopped T2P.

(crap, I reread my post and I didn't note that I was in the blinds... but I did say I was first to act post flop... Hey, I just started playing again and this is my first post here in a couple of years.....)

Post is evidence why you buy in deep and keep chips on the table.

Congrats OP, you won $100-$200 more than most 8/16 players would.

I totally agree.

I kicked myself a little after the hand because the villain just knocked me down to $300 and I bought an extra rack a couple of hand earlier.
I would had normally would had bought an extra rack and two $100 chips in that situation except I was planning on leaving within the hour.
That decision cost me $200.

No question, just a crazy hand story.
Received a couple of good strategy points from posters to top it off.

Meh. There would be people who would be quite shaken losing $500 in a single hand of 8/16, which happens here about 15-20% of the time.

If you get a chance to go all-in with the nuts for 30 BB only once every 10,000+ hands, you're not losing much.

Because most places don't allow it. I can only remember one place that did. It was pretty good though.

Great story and hand.

Never happened to me before but happened to my good friend at 15/30 at least twice where they didn't say all in but ended up putting it ALL IN when HERO had nut straight flush and villain had low end straight flush.

Gotta love calling an all in with the nuts in a LIMIT game!

Like Howard said, how comes this never happens to me?
