I open QQ early, two calls, good lag on button three bets, sb cold calls, I cap. 5 ways to flop, 20 sb.

Flop is AJ3, checks around. Turn is 3, no flush draw.

Check, I check, more check, bet, lag folds, sb calls, I fold?

I’m most interested in the flop.

Why would you lead out on the flop?

As played, I would call the turn absent reads that either the bettor or the caller always have an ace.

seems like a crazy easy call on the turn, call on the river UI. not sure why you folded

betting flop seems bad.

What new information do we have on the turn that we didn’t have on the flop other than that the lag has no ace.

It is hard to overstate the value of that information.

unless you have access to other players' hole cards, neither you, nor anyone else, can be 90% sure you dont have the best hand. so you call.

this seems like a "pride" fold to me that i see a lot, where good players sometimes do silly things because they dont want to be "embarrassed" by having a losing hand at showdown.

I didn't run any equities here but I don't mind betting the flop and then mostly getting to showdown barring any crazy action after my flop bet.

There are a lot of players in this pot and you surely have plenty of equity against their ranges. Modern thinking may be that you increase the equity of the continue range of villains when you bet, but you also get a lot of value from worse hands AND deny equity in a large pot. Guess you gotta weigh the pros/cons of those two factors mostly.

I don't think you go too wrong by denying equity and making sure you realize yours in all reasonable scenarios.

I’m just shrugging and calling the turn. On the river we check again and call the LAG but not overcall the SB I think

I prefer to bet the flop. It's reasonable for us to have the best hand. I don't want to give a free card to backdoors and smaller pocket pairs in a gigantic pot. Also, I think it is often possible to figure out that I am behind against an ace and to let go on the big streets.

As played, I am definitely calling twice. Given the action, it is perfectly reasonable for the bettor to have Jx or worse.

Yeah, I think this is right. I couldn’t quite wrap my head around betting this flop against this many opponents but it makes sense after some thought.
