this hand deserves some context
i am starting to announce that i do not chop, i always play, when i sit down and when i see the first chop. i came here to play, and i need to significantly improve this blind vs blind battle

villain is an old asian that's pissed at me: a few hands ago he for some reason opened top 2 pair on the turn (AJ), river (Q) completed a 4-straight which i hit and bet, he tanked and folded. he called me a "****ing guy" with a mouthful of pepper steak, i laughed and said youre a ****ing guy learn how to play. all the other geezers also started cracking up

K3h in SB vs angry old asian villain bb. i announce again i dont chop, hero raise, villain 3! hero call

Flop 6xx 2 diamonds, check check
Turn x Diamond hero bet bb raise hero call?
River T check check
I announce K high, he slams cards like he got me or something

we have king high right? on a 3flush kinda lowcard board...i'm not sure what range we're getting value against

i think opponent often has a lot of ace highs, then maybe some monsters and some air, and we do best against those chunks of his range by checking

He should be betting most ace highs (and everything else). Give the man s chance to fold.

i dont think i bet the turn for "value", but i thought it i could get him to fold (is this value betting for fold equity? im not good with these terms). i shouldn't have called the turn raise, now im 3.5 BB into the hand where i really only wanted to spend 2 or 2.5BB

his card slam was face up
Spoiler:
villain had a 6 i didnt see other card, flew into dealers tray

if im not betting turn here, is this a check/call on river?

The flop check by an Asian after he 3 bet pre is a red flag. You don't have to fight for every pot even in BVB. I would check/fold turn.

No value in betting turn. A-high isn’t folding and better K is less likely due to card removal. I c/c down and maybe fold a diamond river.

fwiw, assuming its rake not time i think the value of learning bvb isnt worth playing huhu pots for $4 or $5 a hand...

You should keep your mouth shut here and make him show his cards or muck.

turn bet is horrible as it never works as a bluff or value. even a complete nit is not going to fold a better hand to this bet after checking flop.

sounds you arent very good bvb...maybe you should chop.

Even if he's no good right now, chopping is a great way of missing opportunities to get better.
