bet or check turn? bet or check turn?

I open KhJh UTG and only a super loose guy calls in the BB. He has a 3 bet range in this spot which is tight. He is never folding his blind. He seems pretty sticky post flop but does seem to respect me. He will just call down a weak Ace. He can be induced to bluff the river but he also will make very thin bets as well. I think he may wait till the turn to raise two pair plus but I'm not sure.

AdQs5h....check, I bet, he calls

AdQs5h5c..He checks...Do you bet again?

The only thing you are beating is worse broadways gutshots. If he won’t fold a queen, I check here.

I agree.

What if the turn was an 8 and I think he may fold his smaller pairs?

A bet targets such a narrow portion of his range

I agree again. Thanks!

If the board came AQ58 and we had J9 what would you do on the turn?

I'm rusty from not playing a lot and this seems to be a spot that comes up a bunch and I'm not sure I'm playing appropriately.

You know how it goes. The less show down value you have, the more likely you should be to bet here. That said, I’d probably just give up with J9 as well. Is he really peeling the flop with pairs under Q?

I’d also be more likely to bet no pair if I raised utg (where my range is perceived strong) versus in the button (where I often have 4 high)

He is peeling pairs under Q. I'm not sure he would fold a small pair if I bet the turn anyway.

He seemed to bet the river close to 100% after I checked the turn. The times I was able to showdown he showed some super thin bets that I'm not sure were for value or maybe he thought he was bluffing. I think it may be best to bet the turn in situations where I don't have many outs but have some showdown value and maybe a little turn value. I feel that I'm gonna get accidentally owned the times I check these back with the intent of picking off a bluff. I think I need to call the river UIP more in situations where there are a lot of missed draws in his range and just folding more on the dryer boards (duh!).

I did see him bet/fold the river several times after the the turn was checked. Perhaps I should sometimes turn the top of my folding range into a bluff on the river?

Thanks for the feed back!
