This was the only hand I marked for review last night.

Villain was playing 70/40/1.1. Really wild preflop but not so much post.

I'm not sure about my preflop 3!

On flop I am not so sure I like my check/call with such a drawy board and with villain likely to have caught a piece of it. Better to get the bets in on the flop?

On River I don't like seeing the raise, but put a lot of two pair in his hand and decide to go for one more bet. Spew or value?

Thoughts?

Preflop is an easy 3 bet.

Flop: I'd CR and try to win the max on this hand. Let him play back with a draw or a second best hand. It would suck for this guy to check back the turn. If your lucky you can get in multiple bets on the flop and the turn.

Turn...Standard as played.

River...Against some players I may just call the river. Based on your read and the overall looseness of this player I like the river raise.

This doesn't look like set v set and QdJd is one combo, you're up against two pair the vast majority of the time so river 3bet is good.

Thanks for the feedback. I think flop is worst. I can't be always going for the turn check raise and these drawy boards against his range is exactly when we want more money going in on the flop imo.

I figured pre was probably standard and river was super close between call and raise.

So who wants to guess his hand? 88 SB vs. EP Raise line check

Go crazy on the flop.

Even if you check raise the flop, he may still 3bet which allows you to check raise the turn. I prefer that line.

As played I play it the same way. Nh. If he has kings then whatever, just type “wp” in chat and move on.

Update to my guess. Maybe KK but AK plays this the same way and is more combos. KK 3, AK 9.

KK.

I'm down about 50BB since starting up again but I've run horribly. Last three sets have been cracked, big PP's not holding up, just brutal.

I'm also game starting and not very comfortable playing head up so that has hurt.

You still had enough equity to 3 bet turn. Like I said, AK is there 3 times as much.

I mean if he’s only ever raising qj there then 3betting river is mandatory.

Is this guy capping everything he raises with preflop? How many two pair combos are really in his range? I'm thinking that the river is closer to a call than a 3 bet. I think QJ is a decent part of his range and if so you are going to have to pay off a 4 bet. I would discount the turned two pairs from his range unless you have a read he will wait till the river to raise those. You're lucky he didn't 4 bet the KK's. It's highly unlikely you have QJ and he only loses to AA's.

I forgot that this player is not maniacal post flop.

Yeah. I am surprised he did not cap the river either. When he just called my 3! I expected the chips to move my way. He was very disjointed between preflop and flop play.

I agree it is close and looking back I wish I had just called, but hindsight is 20/20.
