I struggle with shorthanded play. A part of me feels like you just need to get your pairs to showdown since ranges are so wide but the hand reader in me wants to fold.

Is this type of call down just standard for shorthanded play? I think with the villain I have no choice, but what about against a standard thinking player?

villain is a maniac who has been crushing the table all night hitting every random hand that he is raising.

78/44/2.9

In one hand he capped 56o against my KK and hit a 66T flop..... thats been the story of my life since coming back but I'm shaking it off and just trying to play properly.

There are a lot of missed draws and he could be value betting worse since you have only just called down to this point. You may be able to get away from this hand against a tight capper. I'd expect UIP Ace highs to be checked back on this river. A tight capper will have less missed draws.

Your read that he's a maniac makes this a nice hand. I'd this were a nitty tag then I'd have comments.

Yes. I think against someone who is tight I can take a c/c, c/c, c/f line profitably. But against this villain I just have to pay it like I did.

It sucks running this bad out of the gate.

Anyone want to share how you are reviewing your sessions for leaks? I've been mostly looking at my hands where I've lost the most, but I have not really seen much out of order.

We don't still have session review groups do we? I'd love to have someone check out a session and provide feedback.
