Not much to say here, I have a backdoor flush draw and a straight draw closing the action.

Turn Jd Tc 8d 9d

Sb checks, I bet. Check/raising seems ambitious and check/calling seems too weak, so I decide to bet for max value against overpairs, two pairs, smaller straights the sb might have and ax with ace of diamonds.

Button calls, sb folds.

River Jd Tc 8d 9d Js

I bet and get raised

I bet to continue to get value from overpairs and jx. Seems unlikely he could raise me with worse here for value and bluffing seems unlikely as well.

Seems like a pretty easy river fold to me.

This is a very easy call. He could easily have another Qx that decided to trap on the turn. This alone is more than enough to make this a call.

I probably fold PF but that being said I think it is fine as long as you don’t fold the river.

Didn't even think about folding pre-flop here, I probably call ever qxs in this spot with the dead money from the sb + closing the action

Didn't even think about that since it didn't seem like most players would raise qx here (what will they be called by?) however I suppose it does make sense.

you chop here a lot i would not fold. ive seen bad raises here with bluffs and Jx as well.

Turn lead seems fine. You also charge naked flush draws. River is read dependent IMO. Against scared nits b/f seems fine. I’m trying to put myself in button’s place and deciding if I ever do this with just a Q and I think the answer is maybe if I’m waiting to see if a 4th diamond rolls off.
