Raising pre-flop on the button to get a free card after the flop is a classic example of poker mantra "it depends".

In limit games that I play this is a wishful thinking. Somebody, always is going to bet the flop.

It works in my no-limit games, though. I can c-bet or take a free card if I choose to.

In this particular case, I call pre-flop. On the flop, sometimes I call, sometimes I fold. I don't raise. No fancy play for me here. I choose other spots to do that.

Poker is not a game of clichés.
