6/12 Oaks

Flop peel spot.

2 limpers, I raise A8s (clubs) from MP, BTN (loose-passive) cold-calls, blinds call, all call.

Flop: K Q 3 (rainbow, no clubs) Pot~ 11sb

Checked to BTN who bets, sb calls, rest fold. I?

My thoughts:

I'm getting 13:1. Assuming I have 3 outs, I need ~15.5:1 to break even on a call. I have a ****ty bd straight draw with very poor implied odds, but a ton of reverse implied odds (A3/AQ/AK/JT/AT/AJ can all improve to better).

I'd probably call if there was a club on the board but think that might be wrong too.

I think you might as well bet if you are playing. Just xf as played, unless this guy is just gonna bet 100% when checked to

What does betting into 4 people here accomplish except burning money?

Flop is a disaster. At best we're up against a hand like J9s w/ a BDFD, but we aren't even doing too hot v that. I'm done with this hand.

So in general in this situation, at least for flops of this character, we should have finite betting and check/folding ranges but an empty check/calling range?

That can't be right.

Surely at least some hands in our range are going to have sufficient equity to call one more bet but not so much as to justify betting.

I agree with this. It seems intuitively correct. However, in practice there are ranges you will probably never use or use enough to justify even thinking about. Things like an openlimping utg range in 6max nl.

I suspect the pfr c/c in the co 5 handed on kqx range may be one of these.
