Table has been playing like a very passive SSHE table. Raises on any street are very rare - a pre-flop raise is JJ+/AK, and I've even seen AQ+, KK and AA limped. Villains are very willing to call down with any draw or piece of the board.

I've been at the table for several hours and have been card dead, playing very few hands, but honestly I don't think anyone has noticed.

3 limpers and I'm in the HJ with K4.
I limp along.
CO folds, BTN limps, SB folds, BB checks.

6 players, 12.5bb. Flop is K36
UTG bets. 1 fold and 1 call. I ???

This, to me, is a close spot. I just don't think UTG is betting into 5 people without a king. The caller could have anything, but I think UTG has me beat.

But folding top pair feels so nitty, even with such a weak kicker!

I feel like the right play is to raise. The BTN and BB aren't going to call two cold unless they have a king, so I'll have a good chance to re-evaluate on the turn, and possibly see a cheap river. If the turn is a 4 I probably won't even take the free card, and even if it's a K I probably bet the turn (if we both have trips he can have my chips, no rhyme intended).

Thoughts?

Fold preflop. Seriously.

But if I were Dr. Sam Beckett, and found myself leaping into your body just as the flop was being dealt to put right what once went wrong, I think, yeah, you're right, raise.

If you think UTG has a K+, I think you can just call and hope to spike a 2/4/5 on the turn. You can always call and he might check bad river cards (A, , 4 to a straight) anyway. You also don't have to overcall the river.

Fold pre, raise flop as played.

I do not fold pre. I think it is fine to play suited Kx in a pot that will likely go off 5-7 ways.

I raise flop and go from there. As you mentioned, you can check back some turns and rivers depending on the number of callers and the action after you raise.

I think I'm tighter than most players here, and I call preflop, surprised there are people advocating a fold. Although I guess in a low stakes high raked game it is very marginal.

I'm fine with preflop. 3 limpers ahead and more players behind? Count me in.

I can go either way on the flop. If you *really* think that villain is only betting a K here, just call. But I think it's possible that he's pumping a flush draw, and so raising would be my reflex.

Also, the pot size looks weird on the flop. Accidental reveal of future action?

Nope. Simple excuseless mistake. Pot size on the flop was 6.5bb (big blinds) not 12.5bb.

Folding preflop is bad. Raise flop sounds good.
