Couldn't disagree with you more. As far as Nevada is concerned, I'll take Las Vegas every time.

In case you're wondering, the gym I go to in the UAE does not require masks to be worn. This is a big difference from not having any gyms open when I was in CA the last 3 months.

I did have to wear a house arrest bracelet for 10 days before they released me into gen pop. THEY TOOK AWAY MY FREEDUMBS! But here I am, thriving and working out without a mask.

Anyone want to lay odds on me getting to a single handicap before the end of May? I'm probably playing at a 17 or 18 right now.

Played 10/20 mix at Canterbury Park this last weekend.

No, the player pool hasn't changed. Charging $10/half is pretty ****ing bad though given we were getting one round per down.

Hey guys that I know. I didn't realize 2+2 was still active. A couple months back someone asked me to tell my poker story, so I agreed. Had no idea why he wanted to know, but I was like ok lets talk. I regret not mentioning guys especially like Unguarded, Giant Buddha and Dr Elo in the interview. Yes I know I'm ugly, so save it.

I've had that interview bookmarked for a bit since I saw you post it on Facebook but never got around to watching yet.
03-11-2021 , 02:58 PM
It’s pretty boring to be honest. I don’t know why I shared it. Anyway cool to see some of the usual guys around. Maybe I’ll start posting some strat.
03-11-2021 , 03:02 PM
lol @ strat.

I played my first hands of poker this week since Feb 2020. $50 quick structure SNG online w/ Zoom with 6 others, I got 6th place!
03-11-2021 , 04:10 PM
the thing that's lol about strat is, hand histories are limited in how few interesting spots come up. i can play for weeks where every single hand plays itself. like once every few months maybe i'll fold AQ preflop. and 6th place is better than 3rd place in a SNG imo.

Hey there, La Peste! I was wondering if you still played. Cool interview! I am glad someone still cares enough about LHE to take the time to interview you guys. Fwiw, the dude interviewing you is one of the most fun opponents I have had in live poker. I played with him a ton in the 2013 LAPC 60/120 games and I swear he would single-handedly increase everyone's VPIP by 10+% through his table talk and crazy play.

Are you playing in the pandemic games, or are you waiting for the covid numbers to go down some more? I am tempted to visit the Bike, but the fact that you have to use porta potties instead of real restrooms really grosses me out. I mean can you even wash your hands with running water? Ewwww. Maybe I am a snob. But ewwww.

I miss the days of you and daiquiri bashing each other. We had an Elo sighting a couple months ago, but he didn't take long to get himself banned and have all of his posts deleted.

Hi Unguarded! The reason I checked in at 2+2 was that daiquiri commented on that video saying it would be cool if all the old 2+2ers got together for some drinks. I can't believe I forgot to mention so many of you in the interview. TBH I was nervous so I just blanked out.

As for Los Angeles, The Bike stole all of the high stake action from commerce. You can go inside and use the restrooms. No more porto potties, they were the worst. The dealers try to squirt hand sanitizer on your hands. I say my doctor said I can't have that. There is a 200/400 that goes 3 days a week. The 60/120 usually has about 2 games going a day, 40/80 has 2 to 4 games going per day. I play the 40 and the 60. The games are usually amazing. I never feel like I am not the best player in the game, besides sometimes in the 60 people can be good. They increased the rake by $1 if there is a river card. So $7+1 in the raked games. 60/120 is $13 per half hour. Basically they killed the 20/40 pro, as most of them disappeared now. I looked back at my 20/40 results and I'm making like $41 an hour in that game, so $1 on the river shouldn't kill me if I tip less. But really I just try to avoid that game unless I have no other choice.

I would love to see you again! But I would hate if you moved out here and played full time. But to be honest live limit hold em is alive and well in Los Angeles. I went to Vegas during the LA shutdown and it was merely ok.

RE: the interviewer Wayne: he is super cool, and I ended up propping with him eventually. When I first started playing with him he was playing on his own, and would come in and try to play short handed with the props. I thought he was a huge spazz and a fish. Then all of the sudden he is the main guy in charge of Live at the Bike. A huge cringe moment is when he goes on for like 10 minutes about running bad. I didn't know what to say, but I should have probably busted his balls a little bit.

The fact that he cares about limit hold em still is ****ing awesome, I agree with you. He wanted me to talk about no limit a little bit more, because that's his audience, but I'm like I dont have much to say about that.

Pretty sure I was mentioned in that interview lol . Good to hear your still playing and beating it for a good amount . One day I’ll make it back out to LA.
03-13-2021 , 01:32 AM
Yep Cubs fan and daiquiri were the only guys I didn’t blank on!
03-13-2021 , 03:04 AM
Hopefully daiquiri makes an appearance soon if he isn't too busy dancing to euro trance in his skinny jeans! I think he said that he became a web developer and left poker behind, so good for him. Web developers tend to be very happy with their careers.

Thanks for the Bike info, La Peste. That is awesome that they are letting people use the indoor restrooms again. Also, grats on eventually made it to the stakes where you belong! Live poker almost always = great games regardless of the stakes. We always knew you would crush once you got there.

I wonder if Commerce will ever manage to get their mid-high LHE games back. They seem to be trying lately, but with no success. Just based on twitter pics, the Bicycle outdoor setup seems to be way better than the Commerce setup. It will be interesting to see what happens when indoor poker returns. I tend to think that Commerce will run some crazy promos to try and get their mid-high LHE players back.

I am likely moving to LA once I get vaccinated, so you will get tired of me really fast if you play graveyard 60/120. I get sick all of the time when I play in casinos, so I am way afraid of catching a bad case of covid for the time being. But the case numbers have dropped a lot, so it is somewhat tempting to visit before I get vaccinated. Looking forward to seeing you too! It's crazy that we are about to hit 10 years since Black Friday. It sounds like you have been a lot more productive with your poker than me. Until I put together a couple big years, I consider myself a washed up dinosaur from the past.

Daiquiri indeed is a web developer or something of that nature.

I didn't know that Commerce was trying to get their games back. I was just assuming that since they were bought out by some Indian Casino they were concentrating on table games. They certainly never cared about poker players though. There is an opportunity for someone to swoop in and take back some games from the Bike by running some promos. No one is giving free food or comps, and commerce and bike both raised the rake. Bike just put their jackpot back at 40K after they had lowered it to 20K so they must be hearing footsteps. Whenever they succeed at getting some game they manage to **** it up somehow.

I think you moving to LA is an excellent idea, I don't know why anyone would not live in LA if they can perform it. You take grave shift and I'll take day shift! You are right about all stakes of live players aren't very tough at all.

FISH CONFIRMED.

I want to show case all the games and pick regs I've seen over the years in podcasts for posterity else they will be lost forever in time!
