I played for 4 hours in 3-6 and ended up +$60 but I paid maybe $30 or $40 in rake during that time. Just sitting at the table you can slowly see everyone's stacks shrinking. There has to be at least $100 leaving the table every hour which is usually more than most people buy in for at that stake.

How do players come back week after week, year after year of consistently losing or maybe breaking even/winning once in a while? Do people not realize that they're losing so much? They don't care? Or are there enough new players joining the pool to make up for the ones who do quit.
Hello everyone! I hope all are safe during these strange times. Haven't been around here over 4-5 years. Miss you guys

Regarding the question above, the answer is simple: the jackpot of course! everyone is a jackpot winner!

What Doug said. On the positive side, a HUHU 50BB match will be over very fast quite often. You do get your money's worth in a roller coaster of emotions if you opponent is running hot

I agree that giving odds on heads up match is a bad bet vs good players but in this case i was getting odds.

I'd take Bob148 side especially if given odds in.HUHU even if 50 BB LHE is too random to capture EV / Long run / etc of whose better. PS: Too stingy to actually place bets & sans players I indicated earlier.

Re: 2020! NC/LC

Can I get a one time for my best friend to open a Hedge Fund as side income?

He briefly explained to me his ROI last week, month, Year to Date and think he's matching average of Hedge Fund returns in top 5% range like he's done last 2 years

Re: 2020! NC/LC

hey stranger. nothing like the plague to bring the elders out of the woodwork. weren't you the one that did the 5k post that was a compilation of a ton of other posters seemingly successful attempts at masterpiece creation? Now i'm curious gonna search.

well i couldn't find the suspected treasure, but instead I stumbled upon a forum moment of serendipity.

I am hereby stating my intention to join you in Vegas over the Fourth. I trust we'll join each other in a fr 30 game where we can both apply our ol skills. I'm bringing my Tommy Bahama shirt, Rainbow sandals and some khakis.

I'll introduce myself right after the game and buy you a beer or three.

Love,

doc
the moment someone like leodoc chooses to be a part of your experience on earth is to be smiled on.

Re: 2020! NC/LC

Sharing a video from a buddy of mine who's been a friendly mentor to me within the Dallas Magic Club. I'll post some of my own videos soon.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cQ9vV85Qngg

On a related note, I'm planning to do an 8-year-anniversary post about how poker changed my life. Seriously, everywhere I look I feel like I see lessons I learned playing poker that apply to other areas of life or things I just look at differently now that I have 8 years of study under my belt. Even though I barely ever play anymore, my poker years are always going to stick with me as special years of my life.

For anyone who hasn't seen them yet (probably very few as often as I pimp these), here is a link to my 6-year post, and I very strongly recommend the 4-year post linked from there - I still stubbornly believe it should be the first post any prospecting poker player reads:

Re: 2020! NC/LC

daltxcoltsfan certainly loves to stop and smell the roses.

now i'm wondering not how poker has changed your life, but instead im wondering if you started to carry yourself any differently after seeking my advice privately regarding your beginners posts. i remember you were a bit apprehensive about advertising it. sure maybe over the years you took a little heat, but pimpin ain't easy, or so I've heard. there will be people that don't like you in life no matter what you do. im sure mother theresa herself had a few haters back in the day. she would have prayed for her haters. I say **** em.

now i have live and let die guns n roses version in my head. my day is complete.
