is there anything that tracks hands on bovada?

I had something like 5 or so years ago. It was called Pokeit. Not sure if it is still a thing.

And a visit from the legend, herself. Hope all is well with you and yours.

I'm sorry but you can't tell me that at a table where you have 3 or 4 people playing so badly that they might as well be playing with their cards face up and they're limping in 90% of time or more and most pots regularly going off PreFlop for $48-$72. that a $7 rake is soul crushing LMAO...bullshit!
You still put in part of that money, and people are allowed to have hands better than yours before the flop.

Btw, sometimes in a really good game there will be tons of limping. Put in 4 dollars 6 ways and it's 24 dollars in the pot, still minus 7 when you win. You need over 24% equity in the pot to eek out a tiny amount of profit. That's nearly 1/4 of the equity when you put in 1/6 of the money. When they take out 1 BB almost, your equity share needs to be larger when you enter the pot, for a tiny amount of profit in the long run.

20/40 might not have a ton of games where people are going 6 ways for two bets, but I promise you they do happen. And at 8/16 almost every game is like that and even better. I mean put in perspective, it would be like if they raked the pot for $35 every time in the 20/40 game. Except they actually take out the same amount.

Now of course if you only have $200 to lose and you enjoy poker, then playing 4/8 is a fine option for you. But don't try to act like the rake doesn't make a difference in the long run, that just doesn't make sense according to the math. Anyone with a basic idea of how rake affects required equity for profit will tell you the same. Or even just any intelligent gambler.

On a different note, someone from the casino I play at contracted COVID-19 and died. Really sad.

The last day I played poker, he was at my table. He played almost every day and knew every single person that played 20/40+. Seriously lost a pillar of the community. I didn't get along with him, but he was a nice guy to people for the most part. It's really surreal.

I think I've known 3 players and a floorman I played regularly with that have died (pre COVID-19). Correlation? Causation?
04-04-2020 , 04:34 PM
I can't remember the last hand of poker that I've played so if I live through this I'm going to buy-in for 3 racks of white and play 3-6. I intend to play every hand blind to the river no matter what happens and scratch one off of the bucket list.

PS: I broke alcohol free 2020 during Qurantine but never drank more than 2-3 beer on Sun for sports sans year end open bar company party. NOTE: Did not drink during that this year

PS 2: Drank at least 2 bottle of wine per day with wife after going fo Napa but that was an exception

Possible. I don't want to be spreading any misinformation, but this thing has been around for longer than it took for those 15 cases to balloon to over 300k. If it was after January then it is certainly possible.

It hits people who have pre-existing conditions the hardest, and frankly a lot of people that play poker a great deal are not in the best shape (nor many Americans). Obesity is a big risk factor because many have high blood pressure, ischemia, and diabetes.

The guy that died had a combination of those 3, which leads to an extremely high mortality rate.

There was a guy in a home game I played in who checked himself out of the hospital to make the game. Even a few weeks before this, some doctor in the game commented that this guy was on more O2 than anyone he'd seen outside of a hospital. Think he passed a day or two later. I've always considered his appearance to be a huge example of winning.

Covid upswing is just hitting the UAE, at least from what they’re telling us. I think they were just under reporting until now. We’ve been on self quarantine a week longer than the US. We have TP and all is well... for now.

Be well everyone!

It’s not possible to derail a no content thread.

If I were another sort of person, i might take this on as a challenge.

i want to rant but i'm too sad. i woke up to the phone ringing. a close lifelong friend passed away last night, but it had nothing to do with covid. one of the sweetest, toughest, and most honorable females i've ever met. we tried dating when we were younger but we made better friends than lovers.

Deepest condolences, Bob.

Sorry to hear that. In the midst of life, there is also death.

Deepest condolences to you and your friends family.

Thank you very much for reminding everyone how valuable cherishing friendships are. Confident black swan phase of decade via COVID should in turn equate to checking on those closest to you which was a great reminder for me to do on Easter Sunday thanks to you Bob148.

Kindest regards.

thanks dal.

to lighten the mood hopefully:

late night drunken dealers choice 25 cent ante homegame 3 handed featuring myself and a few females, including the recently deceased, got a little funny when they started calling wild cards. the game called was no limit seven card no peek with 2s and 3s wild.

on 6th street she had four kings using one wild, and she bet. I called with four fives and a straight flushdraw using a lot of wilds. i drew a fifth five and shove about 2 pots worth of change, which was about ten bucks. she calls.

needless to say i was not surprised when she rolled over the case King, but i did jump a little bit when she yelled at the top of her lungs, "FIVE KINGS MOTHER ****ER!"

still my favorite hand of poker after all these years.
