Doesn't someone have to butcher a badugi hand before you issue this challenge? It seems like Stud/8 is on the table, but this is premature.

Also, great to see you guys around.

Yes im just cutting to the purest game save a few steps, stud 8 a great game also but that hand is like max lolz,

Im still around, doing real estate ****, life ****, play when i can find time, which is still like 20hr a week

Those games are probably excellent but the pace and hands per hour drive me away from trying them. Even online stud 8 is super slow . gg if your crushing them .
10-07-2020 , 11:25 AM
I could play it worse. I think.

Jam EVERY STREET EVER

Well I think I speak for everyone when I say that all super games are as dumpy as the people that want them in the mix

Super games are a west coast thing, no thanks

I am resigned to my status as a crusty old guy shaking his fist at [s]a cloud[/s] those young internet punks who think their computers take the place of real experience.

Are any of you playing live limit these days? I haven't played since February and I'm curious if the games are good.

What's the site to play online right now for limit? I'm not ready to play live just yet but feel the need to start playing some hands. I'd prefer to keep it simple and not spend money on a HUD. I just want to plop 50 ish bucks in and play some smaller stakes to shake off the rust. 6max.

Thanks!

I have been dipping my toe now and then into $0.25-$0.50 and $1-$2 LHE on Ignition. There has always been the smaller game going when I wanted one, and the larger one is fairly frequent.

ACR has some LHE tables, but they go intermittently. I just checked right now (10:30 AM PDT [UT-7]) and two guys are sitting at a $1-$2 6max table playing heads-up, and that's the only one I see going.

Thanks for the info. I'll give it a try.

You playing live at all?

As always, the games are great.

How long have you been saying that?

HF -- Have you heard of any confirmed cases of COVID at Canterbury, especially in the 20 game?

Yep - including the person who died. They are pretty hush hush on which dealers have had it, but I know of at least 5. They are easier to spot since they suddenly disappear for two plus weeks.

Players are tougher. I’ve noticed a bunch of odd absences but only a couple admitted cases

Had no idea someone died. That's too bad.

I hope they donated before they kicked the bucket.

The games as of late (including yesterday) have been off the charts good. 40/80 running almost every day with some of the most amazing gambool types that I’ve seen. I feel like there is a bunch of gambool dollars pent up from the pandemic that are flooding back into the games. It’s bound not to last forever, but for now the games are great. CP only has 15 cash game tables and yesterday we had 3 20 games and a 40 game at one point. I’d say three of the games were amazing and one was just ok.

As much as I'd like my piece of that, I don't think I can tolerate the risk.

So apparently Texas Card House has opened in Dallas and actually has a $5/$10 mixed game available. And apparently they've actually been doing significant business and have enough money to throw a $50,000 GTD tournament.

I'm trying to think of what it would take to get me to go back to a poker room. I don't judge people who are already playing poker one bit, but a poker room is one of the last places on earth I would go right now.

I also wonder if my answer would have been different a year and a half ago when poker was still my #1 hobby and I was still playing as often as possible.

Just to interject a personal detail, the pandemic has curtailed magic too - we can't even walk up to someone and say "pick a card". The best tricks are those where the magic happens right in the spectator's hand. Shows are starting back up around the DFW area though - they just have to keep it on stage.

Yeah, I keep trying to think how I would be acting if I was in my mid 20s with maybe a serious girlfriend instead of married with kids and old parents who have to see the kids on a semi-regular basis.
