In 2015 I ran into a bad downswing after having been flat for a few months, and decided I couldn't sustain being a pro, so quit. I was living on capital since then.

Last summer I realized the capital was dwindling and I was running out of options, so I came back. Now I am a small-stakes NL pro, grinding it out in 2-5. I've been putting a lot of effort into bringing my NL game up to date.

I don't think I'm at peak performance yet, but I'm beating the game, and 2018 was a hell of a lot better than 2015. Right now I am going into training for a run at the cash games during the WSOP next month. I'm hoping to put in as much as 80 hours during the last week of June.

GLGL requesting pics of stacks, hand rundowns, and whether you're in the games over the 4th of July.

Because I ****ing will be.

Has anybody ever formally or informally put together a 2+2 meetup/dinner/drinks/whatever? It sounds like a decent number of us might be in the Vegas area the week of July 4th. I'd love a chance to personally thank some of the people who have helped me with my game or given me fascinating chats.

It certainly happens all of the time. And being that this is the last series at the Rio (probably anyway) you'd think it'd be apt timing to do so.

Hey doc! Hope all is well. Glad to see you.

Being able to quit for a while is a sign of awesomeness.

Always wondered for you CA players if staying home was better than going to Vegas for Poker Summer Camp. If all the good players go play at the B and Rio, do the bad players just keep coming to your home casino? If you have half the pros and almost the normal amount of fun players, does that mean the games at home are more fun? Guess if all the bad players go to NV as well, you're forced to follow. Good luck either way.

Will you be debanned after a year?

I checked the 'one year' box, so I suppose so.

Can't do Andy pics bec I had to drop Photobucket after they went insane and wanted $400/yr to host pics bec I'd never bought anything from them. One of these days I'll get a new hosting site.

But that's a damn cute sheep, eh?

One of my favorite sheeps.

Use imgur, Howard.

My experience with mid-stakes limit holdem is that many of the tough regs go to Las Vegas for the WSOP. Many of the fishy recreational regs go to Las Vegas too. The games at home go on, but not as vigorously. Those games are beatable, but they are also brittle, easily broken.

Whereas during the WSOP is perhaps the very best time to be playing cash games in Las Vegas, because there are so many poker players in town, and many of them are nowhere near as good as they think they are.

I imagine that there is some sort of Nash equilibrium between going to Las Vegas and staying home for both the pros and the recreational players. But GTO is overrated in live poker, and the exploitative play is to go to Las Vegas.

And HB, you’d be proud of my “Gentleman’s” cane collection. I’ll post a pic when I can figure out how to do so.
Good to see you posting leo doc, it's been far too long! Not playing quite as much poker nowadays, I just drop by the cardroom once in awhile to keep the kids in check. Kinda like 2+2.

Life is so much easier in the small stakes when I stop cbetting multiway. Yes, I whiffed but they'll still pay off when I hit so whatever.

Just crushed a 3 hour session for 30 BB. I love poker (waiting for next cooler to hate poker again).

Same guy I mentioned a few months ago who would make declarations about stiffing whenever literally any draw hit against him just had this exchange during my last session (This is a "no-racks-on-the table" house):

Sits down, buys chips, a new chipseller who is apparently unfamiliar with the rule drops a rack off. He unracks it and leaves the rack on the table.

Dealer: "Sir, can you please take the rack off the table?"
Stiff: "What? She left it there."
Dealer: "I know, I'll talk to her, but could you do me a favor and take it off anyway?"
Stiff: "Well, it's not my job, she needs to be trained better."

I have no idea how these people make it through everyday life without getting punched in the neck (check that, I do have an idea, because he's conversely super-polite to the food/drink servers and even tips them)

I got into an argument with another player one time over his behavior at the table when it finally got to me.
Other player: "Take it easy I was just joking"
Me: "How am I supposed to react when you've been acting like a psychopath and yelling at people all day? Don't ****ing talk to me."
Other player: "I don't yell at people. I yell at dealers."

Typical commerce reg.

Also why doesn't Jesse post here much here anymore? I always liked seeing some of the crazy aggro plays he made.

I think he was just joking that he was the psycho guy you played with recently.

That's what I kind of understood about it.

I'm guessing it was a forum meme for a bit

ATTACK

----

good morning

AK is a bad hand.

misclicked for the first time in a long time last night around 2am, but I suppose it only cost me a fraction of the call in tourney chips(4x open with antes in play and I called Q8o by accident). I think Q9o is a profitable call there vs that opponent and that Q8o is just slightly -ev. However, it did cost me about 1/4 of my stack on the bubble(12k left vs 8k to my right and 20k to my left).

fingers crossed big money big money big money no whammy no cancer no whammy no cancer no whammy aaaaaaaand..............
