I think stakes inflation has already been occurring. The MSLHE forum's stickie by PJ say MSLHE is 10/20 - 40/80, but IMO it's really more like 15/30 - 60/120 now. 10/20 is small stakes now.

At some point, 20/40 will be small stakes and pros (that want to eat, anyway), will be playing 40/80+.

Yet the opposite is happening to availability of games.

Back during the poker boom, during prime hours CAZ would have 2-3 20/40, 1-2 40/80, and usually a 60/120 and a 75/150 game.

Now we get like 2-4 20 games (LHE and mixed) and maybe one 40 game with a larger game breaking out randomly. And the 40 and bigger are 90% of the time mixed games.

6-12, I'm in s2 and out of the hand.

Board is something like Kc 3c 5x - 4c and s1 and s9 go 10 bets on the turn. I don't know either of them, so am not sure that one of them can be going bonkers with a set, for instance, but whatever, one of them clearly has the nuts and I'm really curious about the other.

As the river is coming down, my neighbor in s1 flashes his hand. It's the Jc and...the As. He leads out when the board pairs the 4 so the guy in s9 with the Ac 2c ends up just calling.

That's because although people have more to spend, they are less willing to spend it on MSLHE poker.

I'm not a fan and I'm not a hater. I actually think that he wants to go down in the history books as a good president. Time will tell if he is going to achieve that with actions, or if he will achieve that by writing his own history books.
